Realizations on One-Body Cooperation and Recognizing the Whole Picture

We have been talking about cooperation within our one-body for a long time. But actually we have used this excuse to persuade others to cooperate with us when our own project or idea needs other's agreement or a sharing of responsibilities. I noticed such common phenomena. For your reference, I would like to share my realizations on this topic during recent Fa-studies.

1. The Content of One-Body Cooperation is Multi-Dimensional, with Multiple Surfaces and Layers

   One-body cooperation is required by Fa-rectification, which cannot be delimited by the human mechanical way of thinking. One-body cooperation does not mean that everyone does the same thing, or that everyone has the same understanding towards the same matter. For instance, in the big task of suing Jiang, which needs global practitioners' wholehearted cooperation, the unanimous understanding of the Fa from everyone is a manifestation of one-body. Unselfishly supporting the lawyers so that they might do well on the legal work is a manifestation of one-body. Continuing to send forth righteous thoughts wholeheartedly to eliminate interference is a manifestation of one-body cooperation. On a large scale, clarifying the truth around this event individually from each group's angle and layer, and receiving understanding and righteous support from the world's people, is also a manifestation of one-body cooperation. All these aspects are very important, every part is critical in this Fa-rectification work, and cannot be omitted.

   In other words, one-body not only means wholeheartedly doing well globally, regionally, or on task oriented work that needs cooperation, but also means that amid the whole picture of Fa-rectification, every one takes initiative to be responsible to what we should do in each direction, and unconditionally in each dimension, and to systematically, completely, and persistently do well within each region, on every aspect of the work.

2. One-Body is Formed by Each Part and Layer's Support and Harmony with Each Other, Competing and Opposing Each Other Deteriorate One-Body

   Right after July 20, 1999, we overseas practitioners all wanted to safeguard the Fa, and tell people the facts, but our minds were rather narrow in terms of what exactly could be done and how we could do it. Hence, for a long period of time, we only knew of several limited tasks that had been bestowed on us, such as parades and passing out newspapers. During that period of time we all wanted to join in every activity, and fellow practitioners who organized activities hoped more and more practitioners could step up to safeguard the Fa. In a flash, four years passed. Now we have our own websites, newspapers, TV station, radio stations, and all sorts of truth-clarifying task groups. Some of them are geared towards mainland China, some of them are geared towards overseas audiences, some of them are serving the general public, some of them are especially for governments and NGOs, and so on. We are doing all of this in our spare time, individually, and with limited resources. How can we do well on all Fa-rectification projects with such limited manpower and material resources?

   Doing Dafa work on a grand and spectacular scale can surely inspire our enthusiasm, and to some degree encourage those practitioners who have not totally stepped up to upgrade together. But considering other tasks, considering the whole picture, and adjusting our scale accordingly is very necessary in our one-body cooperation. Otherwise, if we operate only according to our own region or task, it will easily create a manpower shortage in other groups and regions, create inconvenience and obstacles inside our one-body, and even possibly bring damage to our one-body and the whole Fa-rectification. So each group should think of how to use the least manpower to do the most we can, and how to compensate the whole body with our local work, then we can do every job smoothly, and win time and resources to do some work that we have not managed to think of, or have not had the time to conduct in a complete, systematic, deep manner. If we can improve on this aspect, it is also a manifestation of our powerful one-body.

3. The More Unselfish Each Particle is in Our One-Body, the Better the Cooperation

   What all ordinary people do is pursue fame, self-interest, and emotional gratification, but Dafa disciples are not this way. Dafa disciples do not pursue fame, interests, or feelings in the world, and we should not pursue personal fame, interest or the validation of ourselves during the process of doing Dafa work. If we can reach this cultivation state, our whole body cooperation will be better and better, just like how Master requires us to be as discussed in "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference." We should do well in this respect, because we cannot only do work and not cultivate ourselves. The standard in the new cosmos is very pure. Master wants us to reach a grand consummation, the likes of which have never before been seen in history. We should melt into the Fa primarily, and purify ourselves. On the other hand, if we intentionally or unintentionally take advantage of one-body cooperation as opportunities to conduct our own ideas or let loose our attachments, it would easily bring harm to our whole body because of our loopholes in personal cultivation. Hence, it is very important that every one, especially the head coordinators and volunteer assistants, study the Fa well and discipline ourselves strictly in order to cooperate smoothly.

4. Learn to View Things From the Requirement of the Fa, and from the Angle of Saving Sentient Beings, So That We Can Cooperate Better

   There is an overall picture in terms of the entire Fa-rectification process. There is a global picture of Falun Dafa disciples' clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. There is the focal point of mainland China within our global picture. There is an overall picture for each specific Dafa project we do, which contains priorities within each one that changes from period to period. No matter which overall picture or within which time-space, we should put the overall picture of Master doing Fa-rectification first, base our detailed specific work on the effects of saving sentient beings, do not take our specific work as our final goal and thus bring about common ordinary people problems in our Dafa work, or further limit the wisdom and ability of oneself as a Dafa disciple.

   Dafa disciples do not pursue anything ordinary people value. So we do not pursue fame from any website, newspaper, TV program when we do technical or other jobs in these areas. But when our minds are on saving sentient beings, and unselfishly and wholeheartedly doing well on every job of clarifying the truth, each of our specific tasks will naturally have good results. Just like the example Master mentioned that one who studies well without the pursuit of entering college, will naturally pass the exams to enter college.

5. One-Body Cooperation Does Not Equal the Organizational Hierarchy of Ordinary People

The one-body cooperation between Dafa disciples is based on the understanding of Dafa and righteous thoughts, it is from the bottom of our hearts, "...that's the harmony of Dafa disciples." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference") It cannot be reached by ordinary people's orders and notions of hierarchy. Therefore, cooperation at anytime cannot work without studying the Fa. Keep on studying the Fa well, measure our conduct with the Fa, and do even better, this is our foundation for reaching smooth cooperation.
