Looking Inside, Eliminating the Evil With Righteous Thoughts, and Offering People Salvation With Compassion

On February 28^th, a police officer followed me as I went to a fellow practitioner's home and then arrested both of us. We were sent to a detention center during the night and cruelly tortured. My lumbar area was so severely injured from the torture that I could not walk. With a righteous mind, I questioned the police, "Don't I have the right to visit my friend? Are there any human rights in China?" I refused to sign the detention document. The police carried me to a cell with ten inmates. Two of the inmates started to kick me as soon as I came in the door. I told them, "Do not hit people. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, a good person." After that, nobody gave me a hard time. For three days in a row, I clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to the inmates and exposed the evil so that they could understand that Falun Dafa is righteous, and that Dafa practitioners are good people. Several inmates indicated that they would like to practice Dafa upon being released.

On the fourth day, I laid on the bed because I had been on a hunger strike without water in order to protest the persecution, and with the severe back pain, I could not move. However, my mind was clear and I looked inside myself. Although I was sending forth righteous thoughts everyday to deny the old forces' arrangements, why was I still being persecuted? I finally realized the following problems: 1) I hadn't studied the Fa enough; 2) I did not persist in silently reciting Zhuan Falun [The mainábook of Falun Dafa]; 3) I used to get up at 4 a.m. to do the exercises but now I only did the sitting exercises or skipped the second set of the exercises; 4) I had allowed some of my attachments to grow unchecked; 5) I had the mentality of taking practitioners as examples; 6) My attachment of pursuing doing things and getting results was getting stronger. After two days of meditation, I realized these shortcomings. When the old forces saw those, they would surely latch on to them as excuses for their persecution. However, everything is under the control of Teacher. Teacher said, "The old forces made well-ordered arrangements, but I too have done things with much order. No matter which angle you look at it from, there's a way to ultimately resolve these problems." "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference" from Guiding the Voyage Teacher took the opportunity to let me tell the facts of Dafa to people who had predestined relationships with Dafa, paving the way for a bright future for them. On the sixth day, I felt that I had completed what I was here to do and found my shortcomings in the meantime. Therefore it was time for me to go home. I constantly sent forth righteous thoughts, and asked Teacher to help me maintain my righteous thoughts and action in order to eliminate the evil and leave that place. I started to vomit continuously. Some inmates helped turn me over, while others brought me water or a blanket, and yet others tried to convince me to eat. An inmate said, "Look, we swear at and beat other inmates, yet we are taking care of you as if we are taking care of an elderly gentleman." I understood in my heart that it was the power of Teacher's benevolence and the boundlessness of Dafa. I had affected the inmates with my righteous thoughts and action. The head of the inmates reported my condition to the guards several times a day. I was unconditionally released on the evening of the sixth day.

It was during the 16th People's Congress when I went home. The local government was afraid that I would go to Beijing to appeal, so they arranged for eight people in two shifts to monitor me. Two police cars were always at my front door, and one car at the back door, 24 hours a day. The first few days, I did not allow them to come into the room. Three days later, someone caught a cold. I recalled Teacher's words, "Eliminating demons that damage the Fa; He is good to all beings" ("A Righteous God") and invited them into the room. I made tea for them, gave them blankets, and let them sleep on the sofa during the night. I also asked my wife to make rice gruel and egg soup for them. Most importantly, through Teacher's benevolence, they were able to understand that Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa after I clarified the truth to them. Some policemen even watched a Dafa VCD and read a Dafa book. The police monitoring me often rotated. The government officials, including the Party Secretary and the directors, who led the teams and the drivers delivering the food often changed as well. They told me, "We know that Dafa is good." Just like this, during the 13 days when they monitored me, several dozen people came to know the truth about Dafa. I was constantly studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts, clarifying the truth, and practicing the exercises. On the morning of March 19th, they all quietly left.

I thank Teacher for his benevolence in saving all sentient beings and helping me find my shortcomings. I can't express my gratitude to Teacher. I can only do what a Dafa practitioner should do, following Teacher's requirements.
