"What is a Buddha? 'Tathagata' is what human beings call someone who's come with the truth and the power to do what he wants, whereas real Buddhas are guardians of the cosmos and are responsible for all righteous elements in the cosmos." ("Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference")

Dafa disciples are cultivating themselves to become guardians of the coming new cosmos. As a metaphor from everyday people's life, Dafa disciples are similar to soldiers defending a city, where each gate of the city is guarded by some practitioners. The old forces play the role of invaders who have placed the city under siege. Then "sending forth righteous thoughts" works in other dimensions to eliminate the force of the invaders. Lagging behind in Fa-study will weaken the city's fortress, and provide a weak point for the attackers. Therefore, we should remember what Teacher said, "Your righteous thoughts and everything you accomplish come from the Fa, so no matter how busy you are, don't neglect Fa-study." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.") If in this case an attack occurs at a specific area, the defenders would send more soldiers to strengthen the defense, thus protecting the people in the city. Dafa disciples should behave like defenders guarding a city and care for the situation as a whole, while protecting Dafa and saving sentient beings. They should not focus solely on their own cultivation (only caring if their behavior is like a defender) without considering the status of other gates and whether there is trouble or weakness there. (I have nothing to do with other gates).

Dafa disciples are one body. "The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference") When fellow practitioners around us have problems, we should emphasize the whole situation and send forth righteous thoughts to help them, instead of first blaming him for his problems.

"This isn't cultivation with a small reach--it's the cosmos going through Fa-rectification. Everything is just too trivial to even mention next to the Fa-rectification--nothing begins to compare. You can't compare things that occur in personal cultivation with the Fa-rectification." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")

"A Dafa disciple should put the Fa first in everything he does--whenever you evaluate something you have to consider the Fa first." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")

If our fellow practitioner has got problems in a certain area, we should, as a whole body, first send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil in other spaces which are persecuting fellow practitioners.

"Also, if there's something lacking in it they'll unconditionally and quietly supplement it to make things more complete and perfect. That's how they handle things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")

When any persecution occurs, we should be able to help each other; thousands of people will respond when one is calling for help. "The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference")

When we are able to set strict demands on ourselves, take the initiative to coordinate our activities with others' and quietly supplement others' activities, we Dafa disciples will really form a complete, whole, "rock-solid, Diamond-Like" ("Also in a Few Words") body, to frighten all evil. In the past, people had Martial Arts techniques like "Golden Bell Shield" and "Iron Cloth Shirt" where there was only one spot on their body called a "qi-door" that was vulnerable to attack. The "Diamond-Like body" cultivated by Dafa disciples has no channels and no acupuncture points, nor is there any "qi-door." How could there be any place to attack? When the old forces lose their pretexts to test Dafa and Dafa disciples, the evil will die out itself, and that will be the day that the Fa rectifies the human world.
