[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Professor Xiao Zhixiang Abducted by Personnel from the "610 Office"

On March 27, professor Xiao Zhixiang from the Telecommunications Department in Huazhong University of Science and Technology was secretly abducted by personnel from the Wuhan City "610 Office."* while on his way to work. This occurred only because Prof. Xiao practices Falun Dafa. His current whereabouts are unknown.

In February of 2003, personnel from the local "610 Office" illegally detained Dafa practitioners Ms. Li Mingxia and Mr. Cui Xiangrong. The police rampantly persecuted them because the two practitioners persisted in practicing Dafa in the detention center and condemned the lawless personnel. Their lives are now in danger.

[Tianjin] Persecution Against Dafa Practitioners is Escalating in the Banqiao Women's Forced Labor Camp

Many Dafa practitioners, held in the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp, refuse to write the so-called "Guarantee Statement."* The camp refused to release them, even though their illegal detention terms had expired and even the extended, extra six-month term had expired. The police in the forced labor camp persecuted practitioners in many ways, such as providing very little food, not allowing family members to visit the practitioners, separating the practitioners from each other, and other mistreatment. Over a dozen practitioners have been staging a hunger strike for over ten days. Because information is routinely blocked, their situation is unclear.

At the same time, the persecution against Dafa practitioners is also escalating at Tianjin City's Jianxin Forced Labor Camp, Shuangkou Forced Labor Camp, Qingbowa Forced Labor Camp, and others.

[Chongqing] Police Destroy Dafa Materials-Production Center

1. Recently, by official orders from the Chongqing City "610 Office," police in that city strengthened their efforts to destroy Dafa materials-production centers. They attempt to locate these centers by staking out at various locations, following practitioners, monitoring communications using special tools, and illegal searches. Two materials centers at Shapingba and Shiqiaopu were destroyed recently and many Dafa practitioners were arrested.
2. On March 21st, personnel in the Danzishi District from Tushan Town held a photo exhibition to slander Falun Dafa. Finding this out, several local practitioners immediately went there to clarify the truth to people, expose the vicious lies and prevent the evil from achieving its purpose. At around 2:00 p.m., officers from the Xuantanmiao Police Station took Dafa practitioners Ms. Wang Fangyu, Mr. Yang (who is almost 80 years old), and his wife to the police station. After 7 o'clock in the evening, they took practitioner Ms. Zhou Liangzhi to a detention center. Currently, Zhou Liangzhi and Mr. Yang are still being held at the detention center.

[Hefei City, Anhui Province] Posting of Slanderous Pictures

Recently, officials from Hefei City "610 Office" in Anhui Province forced the street committees, work units, and residential committees to post pictures that slander Dafa.

[Hefei City, Anhui Province] Illegal Sentencing of Practitioners Yang Jingfang and Bi Xiaojun

Officials from the Hefei City "610 Office" and officials from the No.1 Section of the Hefei City Police Department are plotting to illegally sentence practitioners Ms. Yang Jingfang, Mr. Bi Xiaojun, Mr. Peng Haiying, Ms. Wen Yan, Mr. Li Jun, and Mr. Zhang Fushun. In addition, practitioner Mr. Wu Jianghai's whereabouts are still unknown since his arrest from home in October 2002.

[Hefei City, Anhui Province] Persecution against Determined Falun Gong Practitioners

Anhui Province's Female Labor Camp is located in Hefei City. Many practitioners from the province are detained there. Since the second half of 2002, the labor camp used "collaborators"* Pan Yingying and Cheng Tianxia to persecute practitioners. They insulted and tortured practitioners, forced practitioners to watch Dafa-slandering movies and TV programs, hung practitioners from the ceiling with handcuffs, forbade practitioners to sleep or to wear warm clothing, and even beat up practitioners. It was here that those collaborators tortured practitioner Ms. Li Mei to death.

[Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Illegal Arrest of Practitioner Chen Guanghua

On March 31st, officers from the Mudanjiang City Police Department arrested practitioner Chen Guanghua and confiscated a computer from Chen's home. An infant of less than six months old was left at home.

[Gongyi City, Henan Province] The City's Drug Rehabilitation Center and Detention Center Still Illegally Detain Falun Gong Practitioners

According to investigations, the following six Falun Gong practitioners are illegally detained at Gongyi City's Drug Rehabilitation Center:

Mr. Jiang Liangshen and his wife, who are both over 70 years old, have been illegally detained for more than one year;

Mr. Zhang Zhikun, about 30 years old, has been illegally detained over half a year;

Ms. Zhang Qiaojun, over 60 years old, has been illegally detained over half a year;

Mr. Wang Genju, 60 years old, has been illegally detained over two years;

Mr. Wang Zhongqing, 50 years old, has been illegally detained since October 2, 2002.

All of these practitioners are Gongyi City residents.

In addition, more than ten Falun Gong practitioners are illegally detained at the Gongyi City Detention Center. The detained practitioners include Ms. Zhang Li, Mr. Zhang Dianjun, 48 years old, Mr. Xue Jinzhong, and Mr. Yuan Heng.

The details of their circumstances are under investigation. All of these practitioners have been illegally sent to Zhengzhou City's Baimiao Forced Labor Camp.

[Liaoning Province] Persecution against Dafa Practitioner Zhu Guofen and Jing Shuzhi

Ms. Zhu Guofen, 66 years old, is a retired teacher from Shenyang City. For practicing Falun Gong she was put on a "blacklist" and illegally detained at a custody center for 20 days, between September and October of 1999. In August 2002, several policemen and six or seven plainclothes officers, who claimed they were policemen from Hushitai Town's Political and Judiciary Committee, broke into her home. They searched her house and checked her cell phone records and computer for nearly two hours without any authorization.

Ms. Jing Shuzhi, 56 years old, is a retired employee from Xinbin County in Liaoning Province. From July 1999 to March 2003, she was illegally detained five times at the Xinbin County Detention Center. Lawless policemen confiscated over 2,000 Yuan* from her when she was body-searched. She has been ferociously force-fed for about nine days and has been injected with some kind of medicine, which caused red spots to cover her body. She has been illegally detained twice at the Fushun City Female Ziqiang School, which has been turned into a prison, where she suffered many kinds of excruciating tortures and beatings, causing injuries all over her body. Furthermore, she was not allowed to see family there. Now she is illegally held at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp after being sentenced to three years of forced labor.

[Liaoyuan City, Liaoning Province] The Authorities Make a Raid on Dafa Practitioners

Two days ago, in Liaoyuan City, Liaoning Province, more than ten Dafa practitioners, including Mr. Zhang Zhichun and Mr. Liu Duansheng, were illegally arrested in the city's raid. At residential areas in Shenyang City, usually two persons in plain clothes sit in white cars, doing a "plainclothes" stakeout to arrest Dafa practitioners distributing truth-clarifying materials. The cars often change license plates.

*1) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

*2) "Guarantee Statement" is a statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

*3) "Collaborators" are former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture.
