Letters to the Editor

EDITOR: What does the notorious SARS have to do with human rights and oppression? Everything -- because SARS dramatically exposes the true selfish nature of the oppressive Jiang Communist regime. It also is finally awakening citizens of the world to the illusion that China's Communist Party's horrifying oppression of its people has nothing to do with us.

Concerned more with profits and protecting interests, the regime used lies and propaganda to cover-up SARS, costing untold Chinese lives and jeopardizing foreign visitors.

Likewise, concerned more with power and control than the livelihood and freedom of its citizens, Mr. Jiang's regime has used lies and propaganda to cover-up the persecution and atrocities committed against groups like Tibetans, Christians and most noticeably the peaceful Falun Gong practitioners. ...

The lesson we learn now is that lies kill, and Mr. Jiang's regime lies to protect its own bloody profits and power. Moreover, these lies affect us all, not just the Chinese people. We cannot stay quiet or turn the other way any longer. Otherwise, the results could be potentially horrifying for everybody in the world, as the grim specter of SARS reminds us.
