A Family of Swedish Practitioners Writes to the President of the USA

Dear Mr. President and Mr. Vice President:

We are a Swedish family. We write to you about the U.S. lawsuit against the Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and the 6/10 Office (a Gestapo-like agency created by Jiang specifically to persecute Falun Gong). The American government and the American people play an important role in promoting human rights in the world, and bringing those who commit of genocide to justice in American courts will demonstrate U.S. conviction to continuing to be a leading force for freedom around the world.

55 years ago, the words "Never again" were heard at the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide after the Holocaust. Yet for the last four years, the world has witnessed a totalitarian regime implement a brutal campaign of one-sided violence and hatred aimed at people who follow the traditional values -- Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

The persecution of Falun Gong is not just a Chinese issue, but an issue concerning and affecting all citizens in the world, because it targets fundamental human values: Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Beijing's strong-arm tactics have seen the persecution exported to Asia, Europe and even to parts of the USA.

10 days ago, our friend and fellow Swede Pirjo Svensson was detained in Bangkok, Thailand on the same day some Chinese leaders arrived to visit. Her visa was revoked. She is a Falun Gong practitioner and has lived on and off in Bangkok with her husband who works there, over the last three years. Sources said it was because she was a Falun Gong practitioner. No explanation from official channels has been given, although the Swedish Embassy in Thailand immediately asked the Thai government for an explanation. Since there were no legal grounds to revoke Pirjo's visa and detain her, she sought a lawyer in Thailand to defend her. Three lawyers were contacted and none of them dared to defend her! They fear offending higher up authorities who have themselves been influenced by the overseas reach of Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong.

Bringing Jiang to justice is to defend the freedom of humanity and the fundamental values of society. We cannot allow injustice to take over the world.

We urge you, Mr. President and Mr. Vice President, to support the lawsuit against Jiang in USA and bring Jiang to justice for his crimes against humanity. You lead the world's most powerful nation, and you stand for freedom and justice. Countless millions of Chinese have no voice to ask you for themselves. Please help rid them of the tyranny and oppression that threatens their very lives.
