U.S. Newswire: New Evidence on Falun Gong "Self-Immolation" Incident U.S. Newswire New findings demonstrate that the so-called "self-immolation
incident" on Tiananmen Square -- the No. 1 weapon used to turn
public opinion against Falun Gong both inside and outside of China
-- was part of a set-up by the Jiang Zemin regime to malign Falun
Gong. On May 14, the World Organization to Investigate the
Persecution of Falun Gong ("WOIPFG") will hold news conferences in
various countries and cities to release an investigative status
report. The so-called "self-immolation" incident took place on January
23, 2001 on Tiananmen Square, Beijing. According to China's state
Xinhua News Agency, five Falun Gong practitioners, led by Wang
Jindong, self-immolated themselves on Tiananmen Square that day.
Since the incident had many suspicious parts, "WOIPFG" established
a special committee to investigate the incident. The committee
received testimony from informants, and gathered evidence from
multiple witnesses and other sources. At the news conference, the following evidence will be
discussed/released: -- Voice recognition technology proving that the lead
"self-immolator," Wang Jindong, was played by two different persons
on China's state run CCTV programs. -- Testimony of the medical staff at the hospital testimony
regarding the mysterious sudden death of the 12-year-old girl who
was an alleged participant in the self-immolation. -- It should take about 20 minutes to travel between Tiananmen
Square and the hospital, yet it was confirmed that it took more
than 2 hours for the ambulance to reach the hospital on the day of
"self-immolation". http://www.usnewswire.com/topnews/qtr2_2003/0513-146.html Posting date: 5/15/2003
