Denmark: Nordic Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day in Copenhagen (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net May 14, 2003) On May 10 2003, Nordic Falun Dafa practitioners held activities in Copenhagen to celebrate the eleventh anniversary of Falun Dafa's public introduction by Master Li Hongzhi in China and to let more people know about the terrible persecution of Falun Dafa in China that has lasted almost four years and claimed over 650 innocent lives.

In the early morning, practitioners from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland gathered at King's New Square in Denmark's capital Copenhagen, where the "Falun Dafa Day" celebrations began.

Practitioners displayed many blue banners with "Falun Dafa Day" and other words on them in gold characters, which were specially made for the occasion. Decorated with colorful balloons reading "Falun Dafa Is Good" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance", the scene was very beautiful. Meanwhile, a poster exhibition with the title "The Path of Fa-Rectification" was also set up. Practitioners from Denmark issued a press release to Danish media and prepared introductory flyers about "Falun Dafa Day" and the vicious persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. There was a lot of information on display, including leaflets and Video-CDs in Chinese and English, as well as news about the genocide lawsuit against Jiang for his crimes against humanity, which was available in various languages.

Practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts and held different activities, including exercise demonstrations and dance performances. Some practitioners distributed materials or introduced Falun Gong to passers-by. Many young children were excited to receive the balloons. The surrounding area was filled with the serene atmosphere of a peaceful festival and people could not help but stop and watch.

Around 2 pm, the female practitioners' dancing performance was almost perfect. It was decided to move the performance to the downtown city centre, particularly the area with the most foot traffic, where many more people would have a chance to see the performances and learn the truth about Falun Dafa. Consequently, practitioners split into two groups. While one group continued to stay at the New Square to demonstrate the exercises and talk to passers by, the other group went to the city center to perform.

Practitioners all cherished this opportunity. Some of the female dancers were actually new practitioners, who had not attended large-scale activities such as this before. Just like the others they ignored fatigue and hunger, dancing earnestly all the way to the city centre, through another square, and back to where they started. Along the way, other practitioners enthusiastically distributed flyers to pedestrians. The graceful dancing earned repeated rounds of applause. Flyers were distributed very quickly and before long all of them were gone.

At 5 pm, the celebrations in New Square concluded. After a short break, the practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy. At 7 pm, practitioners raised Dafa banners and poster boards in Chinese, English and Danish to support the lawsuit against Jiang. The whole world should support bringing to justice this evil dictator, who holds no regard for human life. This is evident in the Jiang regime's cover-up of SARS, which has allowed the deadly virus to quickly spread throughout China and the world. The practitioners displayed photo exhibition boards, and started to send forth righteous thoughts.

The solemn and dignified scene deeply moved a nearby lady. She stopped and talked to practitioners for a long time because she could not understand why such an unreasonable persecution is happening. Before leaving, she said that she was a reporter for a major newspaper and took some materials with her, promising to make an effort to understand the persecution.
