Taipei: Falun Dafa Day Celebrations on Mother's Day at Chung-Cheng Memorial Hall Square (Photos)

The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day. Dafa practitioners chose this special day for large-scale public celebrations of the 11^th anniversary of our compassionate and great Master introducing Falun Dafa to the public. For practitioners, holding activities on Mother's Day seemed to be a very appropriate thing to do. Just as Mother gives birth to us, Master gives us new life!

The night prior to our departure, I made several phone calls to friends and relatives living in the North, my mother told me not to go back to Taipei, and friends joked that I'm "going into an epidemic-affected area." As Taipei is affected by the SARS outbreak, many people try to reduce their activities outdoors, and have canceled many scheduled activities. I was wondering about the Dafa activity. But a second thought made me think that it is not important how many members of the public come to participate. It is simply important to give them the opportunity to come and learn the truth about Falun Dafa.

After more than three hours on the bus, I arrived at Chung-Cheng Memorial Hall Square, and my worries disappeared at seeing many people on the square. My friend had told me that it had been cloudy for several days in Taipei, but today it was a fine day. Citizens on the square seemed amazed at Dafa practitioners' vitality and the happy atmosphere of World Falun Dafa Day, They stopped and watched practitioners' exercise demonstrations, lined up waiting for Western and Chinese doctors to offer free consultation on health, leisurely walked through various stands at the garden party, or viewed a photo display depicting the Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa. A group of Western girls watched the group exercise demonstration, and inquired if there was a practice site for English-speaking people.

The concert in the afternoon attracted many people. Young practitioners' lovely singing performance won warm applause from the audience. A practitioner's piano recital was touching. Practitioners in traditional Chinese costumes performed a Fan Dance. Some of my friends had come to watch our performances and were amazed to hear that all performers were Dafa practitioners, including university students from renowned universities, a vocalist who had received professional training from Italy and returned to Taiwan, and young mothers who spent their spare time to practice dance. They were amazed at the Dafa practitioners' versatility and their endeavor on Dafa work!

Using such a way to introduce Falun Dafa is able to touch more and more people's hearts, as the activities involved in great compassion of Dafa practitioners. As for every participant in the activity, such a simple opportunity could become the most precious memory in his or her life.
