Sentences Eight Dafa Practitioners and a Relative to Long Prison Terms, Some up
to 14 Years On April 2, 2003, Jianping County's Court sentenced eight
Dafa practitioners and a relative of one of the practitioners to lengthy prison
terms: Names of the other involved practitioners are unknown. [Changping County, Beijing] Dafa Practitioner Li Xinghua from
Shahe Town is Taken to a Brainwashing Class Li Xinghua is a resident of Shahe Town, Changping County.
Around April 20, 2003, s/he was reported to police while clarifying the truth to
people at a construction site and was later taken away by police. S/He is now
being persecuted in a brainwashing class. [Shanghai] Persecution in Shanghai District On November 27, 2002, Ms. Yu Xiaolan, former voluntary
assistant for Falun Gong in the Shanghai District, was arrested and her home was
ransacked. No news about her has been heard ever since she was arrested. On December 26, 2002, Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang Ruidi was
illegally arrested and her home was later ransacked. As police couldn't get any
information from interrogating her, she was released prior to the Chinese New
Year (February 1, 2003.) On February 11, 2003, Huang was once again arrested and
until now has been detained at the so-called Shanghai City's "Legal System
Learning Class" in the Qingpu District. In addition, Dong Naiqian, director of Shanghai City
"610 Office"* once madly claimed, "I am just evil. I'm living a
perfect life. You cannot do anything to me, etc. and etc." His purpose is
to sway the righteous thoughts of those practitioners detained in the
brainwashing class who have not understood the Fa very well. [Beijing] Vicious Personnel Prevent Dafa Practitioners from
Clarifying the Truth with the Excuse of SARS The authorities in Beijing issued an order: From May 4th
on, every residential district is to be closed. Each district is allowed to have
only one entrance. Residents have to present their entrance/exit card while
going in or out of the district. Recently, this order has been carried out
successively. "610 Offices" in all street administrative committees
have once again started to harass Dafa practitioners living in their areas. It
appears on the surface that they are preventing and constraining the spread of
SARS, but in fact they are preventing Dafa practitioners from clarifying the

Practitioners, Please Help Rescue Dafa Practitioners Lu Jian and Yang Daifu On May 7, 2003, Dafa practitioner Mr. Lu Jian, who works at
Jingyang Township Government, was arrested. Later, policeman Hong Qi from the
Jiangyang Police Department sent him to Deyang City Detention Center. It's said
Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Daifu from Deyang City is also detained there. At
present, Lu Jian's family members are requesting the personnel of the police
department to release him. Local Dafa practitioners who know the news are also
sending righteous thoughts with all their strength to eliminate evil and rescue

that Falun Gong practitioners would kill 100 to 300 students. This rumor made
people nervous and kids were afraid to go out at night. However, the people know
that Dafa practitioners do not kill. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Persecution of
Practitioners Zou Yuyun and Fan Meixia In 1999, practitioner Ms. Zou Yuyun was illegally detained
because she validated Dafa. In 2000, she was sent to Guangzhou City's Chatou
Female Labor Camp. Because she did not give in to the evil and resisted the
vicious brainwashing at the camp, she was severely persecuted. After the
detention term expired, the "610 Office" sent her to the notorious
Huangpu Brainwashing Center for detention. During the detention, she suffered
various inhumane mistreatments, like brutal torture, beating, and being
force-fed with stool water and pepper juice. Even though she is tortured to such
an extent, she is still acting as a practitioner who is very determined in the
truth with her solid, diamond like righteous belief, not giving in to the evils.
Ms. Fan Meixia has also experienced the same kind of torture; they both are
still under detention. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Arrest of Practitioner Li
Huixin On May 8, 2003, practitioner Ms. Li Huixin was arrested when
she was walking down the street. As of now her whereabouts are unknown. Li
Huixin was persecuted because she went to Beijing to appeal peacefully. In 2001,
she was forced to move away from home to avoid further persecution and her son,
an elementary student, was left at home. Ms. Li Huiqi, Li Huixin's younger
sister, is also a practitioner. She was tortured at the Division No. 4 of
Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp and was paralyzed as a result. She is in a
very difficult situation. Ms. Li Huixin's elder sister has been taking care of
her. Even though the three sisters in the family are persecuted to this state,
Shijiazhuang City "610 Office" still will not stop. They apply many
vicious means to arrest Li Huixin and even harass and track her son. Now Li
Huxin's whereabouts are uncertain. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Practitioner
Ning Yuying Ms. Ning Yuying, 48 years old, living near Beihang of Huanggu
District in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. At 3:00 p.m. on May 8, 2003, she
was arrested at her home. Detailed information is under investigation. [Liaoning Province] Persecution of Practitioner Xia Wen Ms. Xia Wen, 40 years old, was sentenced to two years of
forced labor at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp because of her determination in
Dafa. Her detention term was extended because she did not give up her belief.
Afterwards, her detention term was extended again due to her determination. Then
she was sent to the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center (Its public name is
"School of Law Education.") for further persecution as she did not
give up her belief. During the past few years, she suffered countless tortures.
We call on the international community to rescue Xia Wen. [Chongqing] Illegal Arrest of Several Dafa Practitioners On April 29, Dafa practitioners Ms. Tan Yingxiang, Liu
Changyu and Gan Junzi from Chongqing City's Wangjiang Factory, were illegally
arrested when they went to Nanquan Changshengqiao to clarify the truth. Now
their whereabouts are unknown. On the evening of April 17, Dafa practitioner Mr. Deng Xinzhe
from the Yongchuan area in Chongqing City was illegally arrested from home and
his house was searched. His whereabouts are unknown. On December 30, 2002, 66-year-old Mr. Yin Hongrong, from
Shuitu Town, the Beipei District in Chongqing City, was illegally arrested by
lawless policemen with the excuse of "ganging up" and was detained at
a detention center. Detailed information is unknown. He went to Beijing to
appeal for Falun Dafa and was sent back to Chongqing City. He paid over 400 Yuan
for a train ticket and was supposed to pay a "fine" of 5,000 Yuan.
Because he couldn't pay the fine, the local government officials took his
property certificate as "mortgage." [a "property
certificate" is an official document that entitles the bearer to live in a
certain area of the country. Without this official paper, people are unable to
live legally anywhere else and are often forced to become homeless]. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] During this SARS
Disaster, What are Some Policemen Doing? Ms. Zheng Ping, over 60 years old, is a Dafa practitioner who
has often been persecuted since July 20, 1999. Here are some examples of what
happened to this good woman: She had been illegally sent to a forced labor camp.
After she went on a hunger strike, she was released but became homeless. Around
May 1, 2003, disregarding the SARS plague, lawless policemen from Shijiazhuang
City's Chang'an Police Department and the Hedong Police Precinct harassed Zheng
Ping's three daughters and daughter-in-laws to find out Zheng Ping's
whereabouts. They treated them like criminals and interrogated them about the

practitioner Zuo Zhigang from Shijiazhuang City was tortured to death it snowed
at Wuyuezhai. In the summer of 2001, when Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp
forcibly brainwashed Falun Gong practitioners, the heavens were furious and

a prison officer in Lingyuan City's No.3 Prison in Liaoning Province, forbid her
