Dalian Practitioner Ma Li and Her Mother Are Arrested; Her Father Dies in A Car Accident
(Clearwisdom.net) Female practitioner Ma Li, 27, from Dalian city, Liaoning province, was
followed and arrested on March 28, 2003 on her way to work. Her house was
subsequently ransacked. Police seized her computer and all of her Falun Dafa
books. Ms. Ma is currently detained in Yaojia Detention Center and has been
sentenced to a one-year term in a forced labor camp. Using her meager income,
she has been sponsoring a poor child who lives in one of the poor mountainous
regions of China, but that is no longer possible. Ma Li's mother Ma Guiqin is firm in her belief in Falun Gong. She is being
detained in the Dalian Detention Center and has been sentenced to a two-year
term in a forced labor camp. Wang Zhendong, Ma Li's stepfather, went to the police station many times to
try to rescue both Ma Li and her mother. He showed the police the document
certifying Ma Li's sponsorship of the child in his attempts to prove how good of
a person Ma Li is. Wang Zhendong passed away at 7 p.m. on April 25, 2003 in a car accident. His
body is still in the morgue, waiting to be claimed. The otherwise happy family
has been totally destroyed by the persecution.
