Germany: Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day in Berlin (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday May 17th 2003, beautiful Dafa music and a rich colorful performance attracted the attention of many people at Memorial Church Square in Berlin. Hundreds of Falun Dafa practitioners from all over Germany met here to begin celebrating the 4th World Falun Dafa Day and the 11th year since Falun Dafa was introduced to the public.

A stage was set up in the square with a yellow backdrop reading "The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance" in both Chinese and German. Practitioners took turns demonstrating the five Falun Gong exercises on the stage, performing the lotus flower dance and fan dance, and playing music on the bamboo flute. On one side of the stage was a photo exhibition entitled "The Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa." The performance and picture exhibition attracted countless visitors who stopped to take a closer look.

On Sunday 18th, the Berlin celebrations continued. A large group of Falun Dafa Practitioners set out from the famous Brandenburg Gate and moved towards Alexander Square, performing songs and dances for spectators on the way.

The route of this parade was already familiar to Dafa practitioners. Last April when Chinese dictator Jiang visited Berlin, more than six hundred Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world held a parade to peacefully demand that Jiang stops persecuting Falun Gong. In contrast with the solemn and dignified parade one year ago, today's parade was far more light-hearted. However, banners with "Stop the Persecution", "Rescue Dafa Practitioners" and "Jiang Zemin is Being Sued" were also displayed. Practitioners all knew that although this was a celebration, 100 million Dafa practitioners in China are still suffering under the tyranny of Jiang Zemin. The public felt it unbelievable that he could order the persecution of such a peaceful and beneficial practice. The lawsuit filed against Jiang in a U.S. court is an historic step towards the people of the world holding the dictator accountable for his attempts to destroy the morality, conscience and sense of justice of countless innocent people.

A group of Dafa practitioners made a short stop in front of the Berlin Church and City Hall to dance for tourists and citizens there. Each performance won enthusiastic applause. When the parade ended in Alexander Square, a disappointed lady said to the practitioners, "It's a pity that your activity has ended so soon. We were not able to make it in time to see you practice the peaceful Falun Gong exercises." The practitioners sincerely invited her to the local practice site on the following weekend.
