Torture Death of Dafa Practitioner Mr. Di Wanqing in Baoding City Labor Camp, Hebei Province
(Clearwisdom.net) May 23rd report: in November 2000, Dafa
practitioner Di Wanqing, a resident in Nanzhuang Township, Lixian County, Hebei
Province, was kidnapped and sent to Baoding City Labor Camp, where he was
brutally tortured. In 2003, the guards were afraid of taking responsibility if
Di Wanqing died in the labor camp, so they sent him home. Unable to recover from
injuries suffered in the labor camp, Di Wanqing passed away on May 1, 2003. In November 2000, officials from the Nanzhuang township government and police
station ransacked Di Wanqing's home. After they found some Falun Gong truth
clarification materials, they illegally sent him to Lixian County Detention
Center, where Di Wanqing was brutally tortured. He was then illegally sentenced
to two years at the Baoding City Labor Camp. At the labor camp, Di Wanqing was assigned to the No. 1 division, which
specializes in the persecution of Dafa practitioners. The practitioners at the
labor camp have suffered all kinds of brutal torture, including: 1. The guards whip the practitioners with ropes and shock them with
high-voltage electric batons. 2. The guards put the practitioners on the "dead person's bed": the
four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of
an icy-cold metal bed. Then the guards tie his body down tightly to the bed
using ropes, from the legs to the chest. [See illustration at http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/2/3/18368.html] 3. The practitioners are forced to stand absolutely still against wall for
three days and three nights, and a guard standing behind him would punch or kick
him whenever he moved slightly. 4. The guards put a bucket full of urine in front of the practitioners and
forced them to bend forward, smelling the urine and watching his reflection in
the urine, while their hands are cuffed behind the back. They tortured them this
way for several days at a time. Because Di Wanqing refused to give up his belief in Dafa, division chief Li
Dayong took him to a room and said viciously, "I'm not wearing a police
uniform today. I'll 'fix' you no matter what!" Li Dayong then beat Di
Wanqing until he lost consciousness. In order to protest the brutal torture at Baoding City Labor Camp, Di Wanqing
and other practitioners held a hunger strike. They were brutally and frequently
force-fed. Because of this long-term torture, Di Wanqing developed severe edema,
with extra fluid in his stomach and intestines. He couldn't move and was on the
verge of death. The guards sent him to a hospital, and he was diagnosed with
tubercular pleurisy. The guards quickly sent him home to avoid responsibility
for their actions and his condition. Unable to recover, Mr. Di Wanqing passed
away on May 1, 2003.
