Dafa Practitioners Persecuted in Henan Province, Many of Them Over 55 Years Old

(Clearwisdom.net) He Guozhong was 56 years old. He peacefully appealed to the government in Beijing numerous times on behalf of Falun Dafa and as a result he was illegally detained many times. From July 20, 1999 until he passed away in November 2001, he spent almost every day either under surveillance or in detention being tortured. Guards beat him severely, and as a result he lost mobility in his lower body. He was unable to move freely or take care of himself.

Zhang Ming is 32 years old. In 2001, as he was clarifying the truth to people who have been manipulated by the vicious anti-Falun Gong propaganda, someone reported him. Consequently he was illegally sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. Because he would not recant his belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," his term was illegally extended twice, by 6 months each time. He is still being held in prison.

Guo Fengrong is 56 years old. In mid-March 2003, she was kidnapped while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ma Fen is 65 years old. In December 2001 she went to Beijing to appeal, but was illegally detained by Tiananman police. The police sent her to the Huairou County Detention Center and stole 6,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] that she was carrying. There were three policewomen at the scene; one of them went by the name Tang Yuwen.

Tao Xiuzhen is 60 years old. She was illegally detained at Heizhuang Detention Center in Jinshui District of Zhengzhou City for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying flyers. The police extorted 20,000 Yuan in cash from her.
