Offering Salvation with Compassion Is the Main Purpose

In the past, every time I clarified the truth to the people I knew, they were never able to accept it. I thought about it repeatedly and asked myself: Why? I really wanted to let other people know the truth of Falun Gong, but they didn't understand. Even my own family opposed me and I really felt sad and worried. Was this because my mind was not righteous enough?

Once a friend came to my home to visit me, and I didn't talk to her about Falun Gong because she used to disagree with my practicing Falun Gong. But this time, she said, "What Falun Gong says is right. Teacher Li Hongzhi is really remarkable." After I heard that, I felt extremely happy. True compassion arose in my heart, and I clarified the truth to her about the so-called "self-immolation" and the facts about the persecution of practitioners. It seemed that her "hatred" of Falun Gong in the past was removed. In the past, as soon as I mentioned Dafa, she would become cold and didn't want to listen to me, but today she listened to me with much interest. When she saw the tape-recorder before me, she said, "Play it and let's listen to it." It was just what I was thinking, so I played the audiotape . She listened and said, "Is that true? What is said here is really good."

When she left for home, it was already 9 pm. I supported her with my hands and said, "Walk slowly and don't fall down." But she said, "Are practitioners still afraid of falling down?" She had already started to know about cultivation. I really felt happy for her and at the same time realized how important it is for us to clarify the truth. I should not stop clarifying the truth to her because of her attitude and we should treat others with the compassion that can melt steel.

In the past, when I clarified the truth, my mind was not pure, and had selfishness and attachments inside, so I usually could not achieve the purpose. I always wanted to change other people, but didn't want to change myself. Now I deeply feel that as Master Li said,

As long as we have the most pure and righteous compassion, the clear sides of people will surely understand and accept it.
