Facts of How Dafa Practitioners Are Persecuted at Geleshan and Jingkou Brainwashing Centers in Chongqing City

As directed by Jiang's regime, the Chongqing City "610 Office"¹ conducts continual mental abuse of Falun Dafa practitioners.

During the past several years, many innocent Dafa practitioners were detained in the Geleshan Re-education Center and the Jingkou Re-education Center, thus being illegally deprived of their basic freedoms. Each practitioner is imprisoned separately in a small cell and monitored by two people around the clock. The cells are extremely small and the doors are locked. The police guards forbid practitioners to study the Fa or practice the exercises; they also try to force practitioners to read articles slandering Dafa or watch TV programs that slander Dafa. When practitioners held hunger strikes to protest the abuses, guards would tie their hands and feet, or send the practitioners to mental institutions for force-feeding. The "teachers" (the authorities at the Center) squandered the money confiscated from Dafa practitioners on vacations, fine dining and gambling.

Practitioner Liu Zhaoshu was illegally sentenced to one-year in a forced labor camp, and was detained in Geleshan Re-education Center after her one-year term. She suffered cruel mental abuse there for more than two years and is still being held. She was told she will never be released unless she writes the "Three Statements."² Liu's parents-in-law are both paralyzed and her child is very young. Since she was illegally detained and her husband had to work extra to support the family, no one could take care of her dependent family members, which caused extreme difficulties for her family.

We recently learned that there are two or three practitioners detained at the Jingkou Xianfeng Street Re-education Center and about ten practitioners detained at the Geleshan Re-education Center. Recently the Geleshan Center intensified its persecution against practitioner Zhao Juanjuan by providing insufficient food, saying they would allow her to only barely survive as long as she does not cooperate.
