Letter to the King of Thailand from the French Falun Dafa Association

Your Majesty,

We are honoured to write to you in the name of the French Falun Gong Association, to raise your awareness on the worrying situation of Mrs. Pirjo Svensson, our friend and a Falun Gong practitioner. Pirjo Svensson has been imprisoned in Bangkok for more than three weeks now.

Mrs. Pirjo Svensson, a 44-year-old nurse, was living in Thailand with her husband due to his work for the three last years. On April 29, at 8:00 in the morning, police officers from the Immigration Bureau searched their hotel room and confiscated materials outlining the violations of human rights and the persecution Falun Gong in China.

With no valid reason, police revoked her visa and tried to force her to leave Thailand. Pirjo refused to be expelled for no reason and was therefore imprisoned in a cell with hundreds of other people. These measures violate the Thai constitution that protects human rights, including freedom of belief and freedom of expression.

Thailand is a country well known in the world for its beauty and its non-violent Buddhist culture. Falun Gong teaches the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. It is peaceful, non-political and represents the best of Chinese culture and values. The former leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin, launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, and extended it to other countries by fabricating lies to frame Falun Gong; this regime is trying to put pressure on Thailand and viciously force it to participate in the persecution of innocent people. We really don't want to see your beautiful country participate in this evil-doing.

Jiang Zemin and several other Chinese leaders are now the subjects of lawsuits from courts in USA and Europe for genocide and crimes against humanity.

We hope that His Majesty will help secure the release of Mrs. Pirjo Svensson and dissipate the shadow that her arbitrary arrest puts on the reputation of your country. We hope that our friend Pirjo will quickly have her human rights restored.
