Germany: Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day in Hanover

(Clearwisdom.net May 29, 2003) On May 13 2003, practitioners from Northern Germany gathered in the City of Hanover to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. The day started with rain and the sky was covered with heavy dark clouds. However, the practitioners did not feel discouraged by the bad weather and everything went ahead as planned. Practitioners continually sent forth righteous thoughts despite the bad weather and, eventually, the sun started to shine through.

The Dafa Day celebrations included dancing, exercise demonstrations, Dafa music, and a photo display portraying the spread of Dafa over the past 11 years, the brutal persecution of practitioners in China and the peaceful appeals by Dafa practitioners around the world. Over the past four years, Falun Gong has been recklessly persecuted by the Jiang regime in China. Nonetheless, no practitioner has ever retaliated towards the persecutors; the power of Dafa has been reflected during this suppression and has shown that Dafa is indestructible.

The Mayor of Hanover attended the Dafa activities and signed his name on a petition to appeal for the release of Xiong Wei, a Berlin University student who was arrested while distributing Falun Gong leaflets in China. She is now suffering in a forced labor camp.

In the afternoon, Peter M ller from the International Association for Human Rights in Hanover delivered a speech in support of the Falun Dafa Day celebrations. When practitioners thanked him, he said that he was always willing to help. Other speakers included two practitioners who talked about how Falun Gong has been persecuted in China; a letter was read, from a German practitioner to the Chinese people who have been deceived by lies from the Jiang regime. Practitioners hope that more people will see the truth and help stop the persecution of Falun Dafa before many more innocent lives are lost.

Many people came to our display and learned the facts about the persecution. Some took leaflets, some talked with practitioners, some quietly looked at the photo display and others wanted to learn the exercises and read Falun Dafa books. Many people pledged their support and signed their names on the petition to rescue Xiong Wei. People said that they were willing to help practitioners and that they would try their best to let more people know the truth of this persecution. It was interesting to note that many people had Chinese neighbors, or Chinese friends and relatives. Not only did they take German materials but also Chinese materials.

The Chairman of the Parliament in Hamburg also sent practitioners an e-mail on Falun Dafa day stating, "I sincerely wish Falun Dafa Day a great success in Hanover."
