Tangshan City Law Enforcement School Is an Illegal Concentration Camp
(Clearwisdom.net) The Huaxin Staff Textile Technician School
located east of Xinhua Dongdao in Tangshan City, Hebei Province is actually a
"Law Enforcement School" designated for persecuting Falun Gong
practitioners, even though the sign at its entrance says "Textile
Technician School." Inside the courtyard, all the windows of a white
building have metal shutters and every floor has an iron gate. As of this date,
more than twenty Falun Dafa practitioners are being detained here.
These practitioners were transferred here after being held for one to two
years in forced labor camps or detention centers. Some practitioners have been
detained here for more than a year. We found through investigation that in
December of 2000, the sign "Tangshan City Law Enforcement School" was
hung together with the sign "Textile Technician School." The staff
from various work units were transferred here and under the protection of armed
police, and they have forcefully brainwashed Falun Gong practitioners. They beat
and deprived the practitioners of sleep for as long as one month. Some
practiitoners went on a hunger strike in order to protest the persecution. They
force-fed the practitioners and almost choked a female practitioner to death.
When practitioners refused to burn Dafa books, they even forced practitioners'
hands into the fire until blisters developed all over the hands. This
brainwashing center received praise from higher authorities as "the spring
wind bringing about the rain; sincere help and education". In the end of
January 2003, the personnel from central "610 Office"* even came to
"exchange experiences." Every practitioner came here by police car and
in handcuffs. The practitioners cannot go home without renouncing their belief.
The practitioners' work units have stopped their pay in order to cut off the
practitioners' finacial resources. The brainwashing center asked each
practitioner's family to pay 300 Yuan* for "cost of living", 200 Yuan
of "educational costs", and 300 Yuan for "assistant education
costs". They also asked each practitioner's work unit to pay 10,000 Yuan
even if the practitioner only stayed in the center for one day. Two years later,
they removed the sign of "law enforcement school" inside, and the
passers-by would not give a second thought upon seeing the sign of "Textile
Technician School". However, the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is
still the same. They do not allow the practitioners to go home, and they force
them to perform hard labor and watch videos slandering Falun Gong. The
practitioners are deprived of all human rights.
Bi Junqing, male, 50 years old, was a worker at Zhaogezhuang Mine in Kailuan.
He was illegally sent to a forced labor camp for one year for going to Beijing
to appeal for Falun Gong. After that, they transferred him here more than a year
ago.
Li Lihua, female, 58 years old, is a retired worker form the Qixin Cement
Factory. She has been detained here for more than a year just because she said
"practicing Falun Gong is good for one's health".
Liu Jianli, male, over 30 years old, was an engineer at Nancang Mine in
Yutianlin, Kailuan. They sent him to a forced labor camp for exposing the
regime's lies about Falun Gong. He was sent to this brainwashing center twice
and has been tortured in a mental institution twice. He has been detained for
more than three years.
Wang Yuchuan, female, 30 years old, was a doctor at Zhaogezhuang Mine
Hospital in Kailuan. She was sent to a forced labor camp for going to Beijing
and appealing for Falun Gong. From there she was sent here, where she has been
detained for more than a year. For not cooperating with them, Wang Zhijie and
Meng Fantie often beat her mercilessly.
Zhang Baohuan, a teacher at Kailuan Second High School, received various
tortures at Tangshan First Detention Center for presisting in her beliefs. She
has been detained here for nearly one year. When she was on a hunger strike to
protest the persecution, the authorities in the brainwashing center sent her to
the police drug rehabilitation institute. There, they forcefully injected her
with drugs that caused her to lose her motor skills for a month. She could not
turn over in bed or feed herself when she was carried back to the "Law
Enforcement School". Because she refuses to cooperate with the police, Wang
Zhijie, Meng Fantie, and Jiang Liqun often beat her. Her body is covered with
cuts and bruises.
Li Yingna, female, 24 years old, was a teacher at Lubei Experimental
Elementary School. She suffered all types of cruel torture at Tangshan First
Detention Center for going to Beijing. Many times, Zhang Xin, the former
director of the detention center, beat her until she lost consciousness and then
poured cold water on her to wake her up. Yao Shujun, the present director of the
detention center also beat her many times and forced her to remain standing for
20 hours a day for as long as two months. Finally, they sent her here. In the
first three weeks, they tortured her continuously with forced brainwashing,
sleep deprivation, remaining standing, and beatings. Because she did not
cooperate with the police, they did not let her take a shower for more than four
months. When her family asked about this, Jiang Liqun said, "We have rules
that those who do not cooperate cannot take showers. This is the management
style of our school." They locked her in a single cell for nearly one year
and only opened the door once a day for her to use the toilet. Perpetrators
including Wang Zhijie, Meng Fantie, Zhang Shi, and Jiang Liqun often beat her
inside the room, especially during the Spring Festival. Her body is covered with
injuries.
Zhang Xiujuan, female, a worker at Huaxin Textile Factory, was beaten by Wang
Zhijie and Meng Fantie. Ren Juxiu, a female staff member of the city government
and Meng Fanquan, a lecturer at the technical institute, have been detained here
for nearly one year. Other male practitioners detained here include Zhang
Guochen from Jinggezhuang Mine, Kang Liqiang, Liu Cai, Zuo Lin, Zhao Xihua;
along with about twenty female practitioners including Chen Suzhen, Zhang
Mengying, and Han Changgen.
These practitioners are all kind citizens. Please help them and stop the
crimes at the Tangshan Law Enforcement School.
