Getting Rid of Apathy is Denying the Old Forces

A fellow practitioner came to exchange her thoughts with me. When we talked about a practitioner with whom we both were familiar, who was extremely determined in a labor camp and had been persecuted to death, she said, "Teacher has already talked about the reasons behind being persecuted to death." Then she started to talk about other things, which made me feel that some practitioners have become apathetic about other practitioners being killed, as if Teacher's words were used as an excuse for being indifferent.

Some fellow practitioners and I exchanged experiences. On the topic of the persecution cases in the Minghui Weekly (a weekly electronic newsletter produced by the Chinese Clearwisdom website), we all had different degrees of apathy, thinking either "the matter is not close to us" or "there is nothing we can do about it." So, we often think that some practitioners in China are arrested because they have omissions, or that some practitioners are persecuted because they have karma and attachments. Isn't this accepting the old forces arrangement?

Teacher said in Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference,

"Once you unknowingly acknowledge their arrangements they'll have excuses to control you and thrust various types of danger on you."

"Why do they have to make all that interference. Don't acknowledge it! That's because none of them are worthy of participating."

Teacher has explained to us very clearly that we should stand on the perspective of the Fa and the whole body to contemplate problems, and that we should thoroughly eliminate those thoughts in our minds that fall short of the Fa's requirements. We must not allow the evil to have excuses to persecute Dafa and Dafa disciples. For instance, there is a family of Dafa practitioners. When someone in the family is gone for a fairly long time, others in this family start to be concerned. If our whole body would also be as concerned as this family is (of course this type of concern is not based on sentimentality, but on mercy and rationality), then think how much power our whole body would have! The evil would be terrified to see us and would not dare to persecute any one of us lightly.

Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A."

"As I've said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts."

So, indifference towards our fellow practitioners who have suffered tribulations gives tacit consent to the old forces and also intensifies the persecution in some areas. If every one of us truly denies the old forces in our minds, it may happen that large groups of practitioners will be openly and righteously released.
