In the beginning of October 2001, a female practitioner surnamed Duan was forcibly taken to the brainwashing center by the public security bureau, she shouted "Falun Dafa is good" and left home. With strong righteous thoughts and powerful voice, she has shouted "Falun Dafa is good" to the local police station, the public security bureau, the local brainwashing center and the Wang Village Forced Labor Camp.

She was tortured for 40 days. Within 40 days, the prison guards directed a collaborator [former Falun Gong practitioner who has gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] to compel her to write a "Repentance Statement" daily, and spread lies, which deceive others. She refused to listen and kept shouting "Falun Dafa is good." When the guards insulted Dafa, Duan loundly replied: "Jiang is the head of evil and isanti-humanity!" The guards asked: "You are not scared of death?" She firmly answered: "I am not scared!"

Because Ms. Duan bacame more and more firm, and her voice bacame more and more powerful, the guards were helpless and had to release her.

On the night of October 27, 2001, a fellow practitioner surnamed Zhang was caught by the police after he had walked more than ten miles to hand out Dafa truth-clarification materials in the village, and forcibly taken to the detention centre. The public security bureau officer interrogated him many times about the source of the materials. Zhang did not compromise, and kept studying the Fa (universal law and principle), practicing the exercises and introducing Falun Gong to the criminals. The criminals all learned and practiced with him, and the detention center was very peaceful.

The public security bureau sent Zhang to Wang Village against his will, but he did not pass the health check, and was also found to have a type of infectious disease. The police became angry, anxious and again feared the infection, he said: "You have handed out materials for more than ten miles and have not got sick." The local police station and the resident's committee alternatively threatened him and tried to coerce him with bribes, "If we see you handing out materails again, you will be fined 10,000 Yuan [a average urban worker's monthly wage is 500 Yuan]. If you do not practice exercises and hand out materials, we will give you 400 Yuan wages, and a two bedroom unit with a separate kitchen." Zhang said: "I am not scared, and I do not want it! I just want Dafa! I will still practice exercises and hand out materials! I want to be a Dafa practitioner in a righteous and open way!" The evil had to release him home.
