By a Practitioner in China

Recently I visited two different friends and to my surprise, despite the widespread propaganda to defame Falun Dafa, both of them had good things to say about the practice. They had experiences with practitioners which led them to form a good image of Dafa. As practitioners, how we display our compassion and our commitment to higher standards of morality greatly influence how people perceive Dafa. Below are two brief stories my friends shared about their experiences with Falun Gong practitioners. I hope they not only help my fellow practitioners, but also inspire those who do not practice Falun Gong to be good citizens.

My friend (a former Assistant Party Secretary of a Township) told me this story: One day in the Township where he lived, a police officer asked my friend to go with him to talk to a local businesswoman. When they met with the woman the officer asked her: "Are you still practicing Falun Gong?" The woman replied peacefully, "Yes, I still practice!" The officer responded, "You are forbidden, yet you still continue to practice?" The woman added, "When I use the word practice I mean this: When customers come, I gladly help them and offer them my best service. I conduct my business fairly and try my best to satisfy my costumers. This is what I mean by practice. If I see someone fall down in the middle of the street, I offer my help. This is what I mean by practice. The policeman did not know what to say. My friend was impressed by what he saw. His story also inspired me. When we are trying to clarify the truth, we should say things in the way the person who we are speaking to can truly understand. In doing so, we are really saving them!

One day while I was visiting another friend, she encouraged me to be very strong and said she hoped that I would never forget her as a friend. She said, "I know Falun Gong practitioners are all good people." She then told me the following story: Recently she went to a store to buy a few things. She ended up buying one item that cost 25 yuan. She gave the cashier a 50-yuan bill and then rushed out of the store to do other shopping. As she was about to pay for some other items she realized that she had lost her money. Then she suddenly recalled that she had not waited for her change at the other store. She hurried back to the first store. There she saw the cashier, but hesitated to ask her about the money, as she had no proof that she had left it there. She thought, considering how unethical people are these days, the girl will probably not admit that she had left her money behind. She was walking around anxiously when she heard the girl call out, "Auntie, something must be on your mind? I kept your 25 Yuan, hoping that you would return to claim it!" My friend was very happy and thanked her many times. The girl added, "Everyone that works here is a Falun Gong practitioner. Our Teacher teaches us to be good people. We would not do anything bad. How could we possibly keep your money!" My friend was smiling with praise.

I am proud of my fellow practitioners and happy for my friend. She not only got her money back, but also now knows that Dafa, Dafa practitioners and Teacher are good!
