Righteous Thoughts from the Fa Can Clear Away Confusion

(Clearwisdom.net, May 29) Lately I have been puzzled by some mishaps in my family. My daughter-in-law had liver cancer. To have her treated, we spent more than forty thousand Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China] but she passed away. I was drowning in sorrow and pain. I put aside studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth, and seemed to lose interest in life. Mishaps came one after another: my twelve-year-old grandson suddenly fell ill, and he turned out to have lymph cancer. We spent more than twenty thousand Yuan to have him treated; however his illness became more and more severe. We accumulated many debts to have him treated. He was dying. I was overcome by grief and sentiment and wanted to die.

I remembered Teacher had said, "Since you practice a righteous way, your practice will benefit others."(Zhuan Falun) So I asked Teacher to save my grandson. But no matter how hard I tried, my grandson didn't get better. Moreover, both my legs started to ache, to the point that it was difficult for me to walk. Just when I was puzzled, a fellow practitioner came by. After he thoroughly learned the situation of my family, he said, "Teacher has told us many times, 'don't neglect Fa-study,' 'study the Fa a lot' yet you have been steeped in sentimentality toward your child and grandchild and have ignored Fa-study. You have allowed the evil to take advantage of your gaps, and they have strengthened their persecution of you."

My fellow practitioner's words woke me up. In that period I had become lax in studying the Fa and had bathed myself in sentimentality. I had allowed the evil to take advantage of my gaps, and couldn't understand the Fa from the Fa. Teacher said,

Teacher has also said,

I am a Dafa practitioner. However, I did not assimilate myself to the principles of the Fa; instead, I turned to ask Teacher to treat an everyday person. This was disrespectful of Teacher. As a result, I had fallen to the level of an everyday person. Of course my legs should ache. Yes,

I now understand it this way: we are cultivating the righteous way. The gong and the energy that we have cultivated can have the effect of adjusting the body of those who are in our energy field, but they cannot eliminate the karma for everyday people. Teacher can only eliminate karma from the root for a true cultivator. Teacher has told us to do the three things well: studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth to eliminate the evil and save sentient beings. But I had tied myself up wholeheartedly with sentimentality, and had grieved to the extent of wishing to die. I am ashamed to face Teacher!

Teacher has said,

After I understood the principle of the Fa, my spirit buoyed and I intensified studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth. I wholeheartedly merged into Fa-rectification, let go of sentimentality and let the family affairs follow the course of nature. In the meantime, I moved to my grandson's bedside to do Fa-study and send forth righteous thoughts, so as to let him listen to the Fa and have his mind and heart purified.

A short period of time after rectifying my heart, my leg pain disappeared, my grandson's swollen neck returned to normal, and he could sit and eat. I displayed the truth-clarifying VCD for him and read the truth-clarifying materials for him, and then he could walk. He even studied the Fa and practiced the exercises with us. Now the marks on his neck are completely gone, and he has become an innocent and lively young Dafa practitioner.

Now we have come to realize that by truly understanding the Fa from the Fa, one can truly validate the Fa and reduce loss and persecution.

These are just my shallow understandings. If there is anything incorrect because of my limited level, please kindly point it out.
