Norway: Practitioners Attend Festival of Peace in Drammen (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net June 11, 2003) Drammen, a large Norwegian city located 40km from Oslo, held a Festival of Peace on Sunday June 1st 2003. Norwegian Falun Gong practitioners were invited, by the organizers, to attend.

The festival started at 10 a.m. and continued throughout the day, ending with a classical music concert and dance performances. Falun Gong practitioners were given a table at the festival to display information materials and to allow people to learn more about Falun Gong and the persecution in China.

Throughout the day, there were different activities for both adults and children. In the afternoon, a lively discussion was held on how to achieve "peace". One of the speakers was a Falun Gong practitioner. At the end of the discussion, everybody reached the conclusion that for peace to be obtained worldwide, everybody had to begin with themselves. In other words, when someone finds peace within, then their surroundings can also be peaceful. It depends on the individual as to whether the surroundings are peaceful or not....

For an hour in the morning, practitioners introduced people to the Falun Gong exercises and many learned eagerly. The atmosphere was very serene for the entire day and outside, there was warm and sunny weather. Practitioners also talked with many people. Some expressed an interest in learning the exercises and also asked where the nearest Falun Gong class was.
