For the past four years we were illegally arrested and detained by the police. We were fined, our salaries were garnished, our retirement pensions were suspended and we were illegally sent to labor camps and sentenced to prisons. We were brutally persecuted, physically and mentally, and our families suffered great losses. Many enforcers from the "610 Office"* and from the local police department forced us to sign a "repentance statement." They even forced non-practitioners to sign this statement. Brainwashing classes were held, and Dafa practitioners were tricked or abducted to hotels, where they were illegally detained.

The thugs extort large amounts of money from the practitioners' work units, and then they often squander this money on extravagant meals. They forced the practitioners to write a "break-away announcement," a "repentance statement," and a "condemnation statement."** Those practitioners who refused to write even one of these statements would be sent to a forced labor camp.

For the past three years we wrote, said, and did things that were disrespectful of Master and Dafa. We let down Master, countless people, and ourselves. It is Master's boundless benevolence that enables us to continue on the path of Dafa cultivation. We reveal the truth to the whole nation and to all people in the world, so everyone will know that Falun Dafa is good. Restore Master's reputation and restore Dafa's reputation! We will devote all of our efforts to clarifying the truth to and offering salvation to the people whose minds have been deeply poisoned by the lies from Jiang's evil group. We will firmly safeguard Dafa, follow Master closely and continue our Dafa cultivation until the end. We will double our efforts to make up for the losses we caused to Dafa.

I began practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Before I began practicing, I took medication all year long. I became very healthy soon after practicing Dafa. On July 20, 1999, the Jiang regime began persecuting Falun Gong. Several days later, officers from the local police station asked me if I was still practicing, I said, "Yes, I'm still practicing." Several police carried me into a car that already contained a few other fellow practitioners. They drove us to a remote village and forced us to kneel on rocks for several hours, until our knees were severely bruised. They brutally beat us with metal rods. Then they dragged me over barbed wire and shocked me with electric batons. At the same time, an officer said, "Pour water on her." At that time I thought this was happening because I had too much karma. They poured cold water on me, and I shivered under the water. I lay on the ground, closed my eyes and didn't say a word. They yanked my hair and asked if I would still practice. I said, "I will, even if you beat me to death." They slapped my face twice and said, "You go over there." I was bruised all over from the beating and my body hurt terribly. I was not afraid of them, and I was not intimidated by the evil.

When they forced us to leave fingerprints, though, I thought, "I can't let them kill me here, I must go out and validate Dafa." I left fingerprints against my will. I know I was wrong and regretted it terribly. Right now, I solemnly announce: the "guarantee statement", "decision statement" and my fingerprints are completely void. I will become a truly qualified Dafa practitioner, do well in the three things practitioners should do, study the Fa well, clarify the truth, use righteous thoughts and righteous actions to make up for the losses I caused to Dafa.
