New Zealand: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Parade to Support Chicago Lawsuit Against Jiang (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net June 14, 2003) On Wednesday June 11, New Zealand Falun Gong practitioners held a parade on Queen Street in downtown Auckland to support the "Global public trial on Jiang Zemin" and the rescue of practitioner Charles Li.

On noon of June 11, several dozens of Falun Gong practitioners held a parade on the Queen Street in downtown Auckland. They held banners imprinted with words, "Support Chicago Lawsuit Against Jiang Zemin," "Falun Gong Practitioners Worldwide Sue Jiang Zemin for Genocide," "Put Jiang Zemin on Trial in the Court of the World," "Covering up SARS, Harming People," "Slandering the Heaven's Law, Breaching Morality," "Committing Genocide, Persecuting Falun Gong," "Using Might Power to Snuff Conscience," which enumerated the eight crimes that Jiang Zemin has committed. The parade drew many people's attention. They received practitioners' leaflets and carefully read them to learn about the facts of Falun Gong.

Before the parade set off, a Western Falun Gong practitioner introduced to crowds of people about Jiang and the "610 Office's" brutal persecution of Falun Gong over the past nearly four years and how practitioners have been continuously using peaceful, kind and rational ways to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to New Zealand people and overseas Chinese people. He said, that presently, Jiang not only persecutes Falun Gong practitioners in China, but he also extends the persecution to other countries. In New Zealand, for example, last year, the Chinese Embassy intervened with the airport's affairs and exerted pressure to have them take down the Falun Gong poster. The rally today is to expose Jiang's crimes against humanity. During the SARS outbreak in China, he deliberately concealed the extent of the spread of the epidemic, which made many countries' people suffer from the diseases and corresponding damages. He has been using the same tactics in the persecution of Falun Gong to purposely cover up the facts. The practitioner called upon all kind-hearted people in New Zealand to support Falun Gong practitioners' lawsuit against Jiang.

Falun Gong practitioners also hung banners reading, "Support Lawsuit Against Jiang Zemin" and "Immediately Release Charles Li." Starting June 11 to June 14, some practitioners held a symbolic hunger strike to call for justice.
