Retired Worker Gao Chengji from Jilin Province Dies as Result of Torture in Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Gao Chengji, 52, was a retired worker of the Songshu Town Coalmine in
Baishan City, Jilin Province. Before he took up the practice of Falun Gong, he
suffered a stroke. After he began practicing Falun Gong, he completely
recovered. In 2002, he was kidnapped by police from the Songjiang Police Station
and sent to the Jiangyuan County Detention Center, where he was beaten so badly
that his legs were broken. Later he was sent to Team Five of the Chaoyanggou
Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. After suffering various tortures
at the labor camp for one year, in April 2003, he was carried back home by his
son. In May 2003, he passed away.
