Practitioner Zhang Daiguo, a man in his thirties, lives in Shannan, Anshan City. On September 17, 2001, he was found posting Falun Gong truth clarification materials at Lingshan, Anshan City, and the police kidnapped and interrogated him. Later, he was detained at the First Detention Center illegally before he was transferred to a local detention center, and subsequently to a brainwashing center at Anshan Forced Labor Camp. He was sentenced to a forced labor camp for 18 months for refusing to give up his beliefs.

Practitioner Ms. Shi Wei, 31, lives in Lishan District, Anshan City. On September 17, 2001, she was discovered by police while posting Falun Gong truth clarification materials at Lingshan, Anshan City. The police brutally tortured her during the interrogation. Later, she was detained at the First Detention Center illegally before she was transferred to a local detention center, and subsequently to a brainwashing center at Anshan Forced Labor Camp. She was sentenced to a forced labor camp for 18 months. She walked out of the forced labor camp after hunger striking to protest her detention. She is now homeless and forced to move from one place to another to avoid further persecution.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Wenju, 34, lives at Ertaizi, Tiexi District, Anshan City. In October 2001, she was kidnapped and brutally tortured while being interrogated. The police ransacked her home and took away all they could, including a tape recorder, DVD, Color TV, scissors, and close to 20,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan], which was all the savings Zhang had, the pension left by her late husband. Zhang Wenju was sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp, and is currently being held at the Anshan Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Ms. Dai Yuan, 33, was kidnapped when she went to pick up her daughter in September 2001. She was tortured with force-feeding, and her hands and legs were shackled with a short metal bar connecting the leg shackles and the hand shackles, so she could not straighten her back. She was having her menstrual period and blood was trickling down her legs. The police just ignored it. She was later sentenced to two years at the Anshan Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Ms. Yang Dexue, a 49, was kidnapped by police in March 2001. All of her personal belongings (including 7,000 Yuan) were taken by the police. She was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. Her term was later extended by one year for refusing to defame Teacher Li.

Practitioner Ms. Li Mei, a woman in her forties, was kidnapped by police while she was distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials. She was later brutally tortured when she was interrogated by police, before she was sent to the Anshan City Detention Center, then the Second Detention Center and later in the Anshan Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Ms. Xu Wanju, another woman in her forties, was sentenced to forced labor camp at Anshan Forced Labor Camp for going to Beijing and displaying a banner to appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.

Practitioner Liu Qingfeng, a 32 years old man, was kidnapped at in August 2001, by Shannan Police Station, Anshan City. He was tortured while he was interrogated. One night, he was tied with ropes seven times [In this method of torture, the police tie up the practitioner with a thin rope, circle the rope around his neck, and tie his hands behind his back. Then the police use all the force they can to tighten the rope. The rope becomes tighter and tighter around the body of the practitioner, and makes it more and more difficult for him to breathe. The pain is so intense that practitioners sometimes lose control of their bladder. There are instances when the rope was tightened so much that the practitioner's arm was broken.] Later, he was sent to another detention center. The police were angry that he encouraged other practitioners to be steadfast. He was sentenced to three years in the Anshan Forced Labor Camp, with the head of the forced labor camp Zhang Zhenyang directly involved in persecuting him.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Qiu, a woman in her thirties, was kidnapped from her home in September 2001. The police also ransacked her family store and took away all their stock of tape recorders. She was sentenced illegally to forced labor camp

Practitioner Ms. Gu Jun, 30, was kidnapped and sent to a detention center in October 2001. After a few months there, she was sent to the brainwashing center at Anshan Forced Labor Camp, where she went on a hunger strike and was released only when she was dying. Prior to this, she was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was injected with medications that affected her nervous system. She only recovered after she was released and stayed at home for an extended period of time.

Practitioner Ms. Hu Yujing, 30, lives in Chentai, Anshan City. In October 2001, she was sent to a detention center. She went on a hunger strike and was subsequently sent to the brainwashing center at Anshan Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Zhao Yonghua, male, was kidnapped by Anshan City Police and Youyan Police for remaining firm to Falun Dafa. The police subsequently tortured him. They lit a lighter and burned his mustache and his penis, then stripped him and threw him out in the cold winter to freeze him. He was later sentenced illegally to Anshan Forced Labor Camp.

Among the Falun Gong practitioners that are jailed at Anshan Forced Labor Camp are Dong Weihua (female), Cui Wenlan (female), Zang Yulan (female), Zhao Guifen (female), Li Chunyan (female, She is not from Anshan City), Hong Yun (female), Li Li (female), Feng Ping, Cao Min (female), Hu Naiqing (female), Hu Naichong, Yang Yanjie, Jin Sumei (female), Li Yong, Jiang Yanhua (female), Han Yuqing (female), Cui Jin (a.k.a. Cui Guangqin), Yang Suwen (female), Zhang Lanfeng (female), Yang Xiuyan (female), Chen Ying (female), Chen Liying (female), Luo Jinkun, Liu Fengyu (female), Gu Guihua (female), Xu Guiling (female), Wang Xiuzhen (female), Yu Changxia (female), Hao Suxiang (female), Su Hong, Zhang Guifen (female), Li Lihua (female), Qin Subo, Li Ping, Luan Yuhuan (female), Zhang Yingmei (female), Shi Jihong (female), Zhang Suju (female), Wu Feng (female), Wang Jinli (female), Gao Jian, Zhang Qianfeng, Zhang Jingwu, Wang Tianguang, Li Aibao, Han Baolai, Sun Xiuchen, and Liu Qiang.

Most forced labor camps use criminals to watch and monitor Falun Gong practitioners. The Anshan Forced Labor Camp is no exception. They instigate the criminal inmates to beat up, verbally abuse the practitioners and subject them to corporal punishment such as deprivation of sleep, not being allowed to move and forcing them keep to one posture during the entire day. The criminal inmates also torture practitioners with methods such as forcing them to sit on small stools and benches with sharp objects embedded in the seats.

List of Criminals Directed by the Police to Watch and Monitor Female Falun Gong Practitioners:

Han Bo, Liu Wenjun, Wang Suqing, Meng Lina, Shi Yingmei, Song Xiaohong, Min Liying, Tang Yumei. The cruelest ones are Han Bo, Wang Suqing and Shi Yingmei. Tang Yumei was transferred out of the forced labor camp for being kind to Falun Gong practitioners and sent back to the Ziqiang School, another place where criminals are held.

A Partial List of Police Officers Who Are Responsible for Persecuting Female Dafa Practitioners:
