Delayed Reports of Persecution of Dafa Practitioners in Tangshan City, Hebei Province

In October 2000 he went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and was arrested. He was held in the Guye District Detention Center in Tangshan City. In December of that year, he was sent to the Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp for one year. Mr. Dang was released in November 2001.

In December 2001, one month after his release, he went to Beijing again to validate Dafa, was again arrested and this time also sent to the Guye District Detention Center, where he suffered brutal torture. Guards instigated the prisoners to beat him, and not to allow him to sleep or lie down on the bed. The only place he could lie down in the wintertime was on the cold concrete floor. They pierced his body with thick needles. More than 100 stab wounds could be seen on his body. When his life was in danger, the detention center authorities ordered his work unit to take him to the hospital, where Mr. Dang found an opportunity to escape.

He went to Beijing again to validate Dafa, was arrested once more and brutally beaten at the Zhaogezhuang Police Station. They had to send him to a hospital for emergency treatment. In the middle of March, he was locked up in a metal cage, where he couldn't stand at all but was only able to hold his body in a severely bent position. To protest the persecution, he has been on hunger strike for over 20 days. His situation is very urgent.

She went to Beijing to validate Dafa in February 2000. After having been illegally detained for 14 months in the Guye District Detention Center, in April 2001, she was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp and held in the No.1 Female Labor Camp, Kaiping District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. In April 2002, she was transferred to a brainwashing center in the Textile University, Tangshan City. She suffered brutal torture at the brainwashing center, such as sleep deprivation and not being allowed to go to the bathroom. She has held frequent hunger strikes and is so far still being detained, in very poor health.

She was abducted into a brainwashing center in this Textile University in Tangshan City for distributing Dafa literature. She was at home when people from the Tangshan City "610 Office"* and people in charge of persecuting Falun Gong at her workplace broke into her home. Five or six men kicked and hit her, almost beating her to death. They stopped beating her only after her husband said, "How could you beat a person so viciously! You almost killed her!" She was forcibly taken to a car and sent to the brainwashing center, where she has been detained up to now. One time a fellow practitioner went to see her and hid Dafa articles in the items sent to her, but the materials were found later. The police tortured her with the electric batons, almost killing her.

Because of going to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, he was sent to the Guye District Detention Center, Tangshan City by agents from the security department of his company. He was detained there from February 2000 to June 2000.

In August 2000, he was arrested again because he practiced the Dafa exercises outdoors. He was first detained at the No.1 Detention Center in Tangshan City and then was sent to the Hehuakeng Force Labor Camp. He was forced to endure brainwashing and brutal torture, and had to do long hours of hard labor. He was detained there for over a year and released in October 2001.

In February 2001, just three months after he was released from the labor camp, the police abducted him in a hallway and sent him to the brainwashing center in the Tangshan Textile University. He is still being detained there at this time.

In the brainwashing center, he was not allowed to move around and not allowed to sleep. He developed high blood pressure from such persecution and was sent to the hospital emergency room three times, in March 2002, April 2002 and May of 2002. On April 24, 2003, his face was severely swollen and disfigured. He was sent to a hospital, where he was only allowed to stay five days and then was again sent back to the brainwashing center. During the fourteen months of detention in the brainwashing center, like other practitioners, he was held in a small single room and forced to endure brainwashing. Three shifts were used to monitor the practitioners. They were not allowed to see each other and not allowed to have family visits. His father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law passed away one after another, but he was not permitted to attend any of their funerals. His company sent his total salary, 800 Yuan per month, a total 11,200 Yuan for 14 months, to the brainwashing center.

In March 2001, he was arrested and sent to the brainwashing center at the Tangshan Textile University, where he has been detained until now. He was deprived of sleep. A radio played loudly at all times next to his ear. In October 2002, his mother passed away and he was allowed to take a one-day leave with a guard following him. He managed to escape. He was arrested again and sent back to the brainwashing center, where he suffered brutal beatings. One of his legs was broken from the beatings, and he developed a limp. He had been hiding at a practitioner's home before he escaped. Although that practitioner's spouse and child were not practitioners, the police still brutally beat the whole family.

Since July 20, 1999, her home has been illegally searched nine times and many items were confiscated. In October 2002, six or seven police officers, including Lu Yunping from the local station, searched her home for the ninth time. They took all the valuable things from her home, as well as 7,000 Yuan cash and her mobile phone. Zheng Zhigang, head of the Guye District "610 Office" said, "As long as you don't give up Falun Gong, we will destroy you, so you will have no home and no life." In November 15, 2002, after being persecuted, abused and mistreated so severely that she was on the verge of death, she was allowed to go home. Several thugs were called to monitor her. They took her house key and monitored her 24 hours a day. She would be beaten if she tried to stop them. Zhang Zhemin, the District party secretary (Tel: 0315-3580115) said, "This is a good way." Tang Chunfang and her son have so far been monitored and harassed for six months. Although her son does not practice, these thugs still don't leave him alone.
