Bringing a Beautiful Future to a Corner of the World -- Introducing Falun Dafa in Ecuador (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) In mid February 2003, two Western practitioners from Florida joined me to go to Ecuadoráto introduce Falun Dafa and clarify the truth to local people. Ecuador is a small but diverse country in South America, and people are simple and kind-hearted.

We arrived in the city of Guayaquil and visited several beautifully landscaped parks in nearby suburbs. We demonstrated the five sets of exercises and distributed Dafa literature and materials and VCDs in Spanish to local people. We told many people about how to download Falun Dafa books from the Internet and the possibility of borrowing Dafa books from the local library.

In order to find precious Chinese people to clarify the truth to, wherever we went, we looked for Chinese restaurants and shops managed by people of Chinese descent. Generally speaking, local Chinese people had a good response to Falun Dafa, and they were very surprised to learn that Westerners cultivate Falun Dafa. An older man used hand gestures to tell us that if we distributed Dafa materials in Mainland China, we would be seriously persecuted. After that he cordially accepted the Dafa materials.

We left Guayaquil and rode 18-hours on a bus to Lima, Peru, where we met a group of fellow practitioners who have had good experiences in spreading Falun Dafa. The day we stayed in Lima, we went to the Chinese Embassy to send righteous thoughts, practice the exercises and share our understandings of the Fa. After that, we returned to Ecuador and visited the capital city of Quito. We compiled many truth-clarification packages and delivered them to offices of government officials and foreign embassies.

We had a successful meeting with the head of Ecuador's Human Rights Committee. We asked about Ecuador's involvement at the UN Human Rights Convention in Geneva, and why they abstained from voting in 2000 and 2001. He explained that Ecuador was only present as an observer to the Human Rights Committee, and he has been carefully paying attention to the seriousness of the Chinese regime's using violence to treat Falun Gong.

We were welcomed wherever we went. We hope to have an opportunity in the future to visit there again, as there are still many things yet to deal with waiting for us to bring a beautiful future to this corner of the world.
