Falun Dafa in "Night of Newark" Activity (Photos)
By Dafa practitioners in Delaware, USA
(Clearwisdom.net) On June 14, 2003, the annual "Night of Newark" was held
in Newark, Delaware. At 4:30 p.m., after the rain, the sky was clear and the air was fresh.
Streams of people strolled the main streets. Falun Gong practitioners set up a booth. Some practitioners practiced the
exercises to the Dafa music, some passed out flyers about "Bringing Jiang to
justice". Some offered free instruction of exercises on the spot, and others
collected signatures for the rescue of Charles Li. One practitioner painted for the visitors. The simple but elegant watercolor
paintings revealed Dafa practitioners' internal peacefulness and harmony. A
gentleman held a painting of a peony with the words, "Falun Dafa is good" in
Chinese on it, and said excitedly, "Falun Dafa is good! I will keep it in my
mind. " When people learned about American citizen Charles Li, who was illegally
sentenced by the Jiang regime for his peaceful belief, many were angry and
asked, "What can I do for you?" Some expressed, "I support you." A new practitioner who just attended the free instruction exercise session
took the initiative to participate in the truth-clarification activity. Though
she had just started studying the Fa, she said to passersby, "Falun Dafa follows
the principle of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance'," and "Today I learned to
practice Falun Gong for the first time. I found that it is just what I have been
searching for, and I want to learn to do all the exercises. If the whole world
had 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance', there would not be so many
problems..." The spectacular "Night of Newark" is a very important and attractive event to
visitors, and it was estimated that about 30,000 people came to watch, have fun
and go shopping. The City government selected over 100 groups to participate in
the activity. The Newark City Government has invited Delaware Falun Dafa
Association to participate in the "Night of Newark" for three consecutive years. |
