Ms. Xiong Yuhua, a 66-year-old retired worker living at the Luoyang Dongcheng Dongdu Business Building: At twelve midnight on April 28, 2001, she was illegally arrested at her home by the police and forced to write the "repentance letter." Otherwise, they threatened, she would be sentenced to four years of detention and sent to another district to serve her sentence.

Ms. Sima Zhufen, Luoyang Lihe District, a retired worker of the Flexible Metal Tubes Company: After she was arrested and sent back from appealing at Beijing, the police tried in vain to extort ten thousand Yuan from her, but she had no money to give. Subsequently, because she refused to abandon her practice, she was sentenced to four years of detention.

Ms. An Feng, a 52-year-old Luoyang Lihe District Woolen Yarn Factory worker: On July 11, 2001, she was arrested, sent to a brainwashing center, and illegally fined five thousand Yuan. After one month of brainwashing, she was released. On August 8, 2002, she was arrested from her home without cause or reason and, at present, is under detention at the Zhengzhou female forced labor camp.

Daqing Oil Extraction Number 2 Factory Agricultural Business Manager Meng Qinghong has been persecuting Dafa practitioners. He has been a close follower of the Jiang regime for several years and has used every possible means to persecute the Dafa practitioners in his unit. Examples are harassment by phone, dropping in to compel or coerce, denying working opportunities to Dafa practitioners' children, and forcing the workers to write "letters of guarantee" (to abandon the practice) under the threat that they would otherwise be sent to brainwashing centers to be persecuted.

On May 24, Minghui Net published an item stating that a Dafa practitioner from a certain locality had been detained by the police for more than a year without anyone asking about or dealing with it, and another practitioner had been detained by a local police station without any further news for almost two years, with not even a telephone call from either the city Public Security Bureau or the branch office of the Public Security Bureau and the police. Now both of them have been released and are at home. This is the result of the combined efforts of practitioners from inside and outside the country.

Dafa practitioner Li Yanmei, resident of Henan Province Taikang County, was arrested and detained on March 4, 2003 because she distributed truth clarifying flyers, and she is at present locked up at the Taikang police station. Because the police have blocked all news about her and disallowed visits by family members, the specific types of persecution she is undergoing are unknown.

Dafa practitioner Liu Yuzhi, Henan Province Shangqiu City resident, was illegally arrested and detained by the police for distributing flyers. At present she is being detained at the Tongfeng Road police station.

Ms. Qi Yingchun was illegally arrested and detained at the Xicheng Region police station on May 19, 2003 while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials to the public. Her present situation is unclear.

In the period from mid-December, 2002 to January 4, 2003, when Dafa practitioner Kong Fanrong had been arrested for less than a month, several Dafa materials sites were successively damaged by the Changchun City Jincheng District Public Security Department Branch, Anqing Road police station Chief Liu Qiang, instructor Shi Yongliang, Police Chief Huang Huichen, and policeman Sun Dehui. These police officials, led by Police Chief Liu Qiang, attacked these good people to get promotions. Their foul reputations are now known far and wide, and were recently exposed on the Internet. They violently assaulted a 56-year-old lady, Kong Fanrong, asking for her name and for her to betray her fellow practitioners. She was finally beaten to death. To date, there is still no clear explanation on how the latest incidents have happened. Perhaps it is due to our carelessness in our speech that we were taken advantage of. Let us send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil behind this persecution.
