During Eastern European Summit, Falun Gong Practitioners from Different Countries Clarify the Facts to People (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net June 4, 2003) On May 23, 2003, leaders of eastern European countries and some of the western European countries attended a summit conference at Salzburg, Austria. Upon learning the news a few days before the summit, Salzburg Falun Dafa practitioners decided to hold a "Falun Dafa Information Day" event.

Because of the summit conference, the inner town of Salzburg was ranked as a region under security protection. Thus at the beginning, practitioners' application of holding the activity was not approved. After communicating with police officers, we obtained the approval. Not only so, we were also allowed to hold event from 9 am to 3 pm at a site that was only 200 meters away from the summit conference spot. Practitioners from Austria, Germany and Switzerland joined this event.

During the summit, not only leaders from various countries but also many media came. The Dafa truth-clarifying materials were quickly distributed. A First Lady received a truth-clarifying packet with her own hands from a practitioner. A photographer told practitioners that a local TV station would broadcast a report about Falun Gong in the evening. Although it was drizzling for a few hours at the beginning, local residents and many tourists still showed their great interests in learning about Falun Dafa. Practitioners had very good conversations with passersby. When a gentleman attentively listened to practitioners introducing Falun Gong and the on-going persecution in China and was about to leave, he heard another gentleman's conversation with a practitioner. He then took the opportunity and sincerely related to that gentleman what had happened in China.

Some people heard about Falun Gong before and asked us what they could do to help us. A lady came over to our desk and said, "I must sign this petition letter. I have heard many times about the persecution of Falun Gong in China." Another lady said, "I think what you have been doing is truly great!"
