Enlightenment on "Should"

(Clearwisdom.net) Looking back on our several years' path of validating the Fa and clarifying the facts, I realize that sometimes our human attachments that have not been removed through cultivation still manifest. For example, we sometimes have thoughts like, "I have again produced this much truth material, I have done this and that," as if we are doing these for others and to show others. This shows the mentality of wanting to be praised, complacency, and a show-off mentality.

Master and Dafa have established us to be "Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples." Validating Dafa, clarifying the facts and offering salvation to sentient beings is the sacred, noble mission and glory endowed to Dafa disciples, and at the same time our longing and choice for countless millennia. Therefore, doing well in Fa-rectification today according to the requirements of Master and Dafa is what we "should" be, while not doing well in Fa-rectification means not meeting the requirements and is what we should not be.

For things we "should" do, there is no need for any reason, recognition, commendation, or condition, and there is no need to show off or be complacent. Instead, it is the requirement of the basic elements of a being. In this "should," there is Master's basic requirement to disciples, as well as the broad and immense mercy of the Fa. Here's a not very apt analogy -- for a person's basic living style, he should eat if hungry, and sleep if feeling sleepy at night. This is the way it should be, which is very natural and there is no need for any reason or explanation. As Fa-rectification Dafa disciples, we ought to cherish even more the opportunity that has come for the first time throughout the ages. We simply "should" do well everything that Master and Dafa require us to do well, and simply "should" fulfill the mission of assisting Master to rectify the Fa.

Last, let's encourage each other with Master's Fa. Master said,

"Right now, whether Dafa disciples are validating the Fa as a group or clarifying the truth as individuals, all of those are Dafa's needs. As long as Fa-rectification requires it, you should do it well, and there's no room for negotiation." (Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference)
