"610 Office" Personnel Persecute Dafa Practitioners Using the Excuse of SARS Prevention

Recently, the Panjin City 610 Office added another title, namely the "SARS Prevention Office." The Internet cafes in Panjin City have long since been closed. At present, supervisors for all residential areas in Panjin City are investigating people coming from other places. They use the superficial excuse of "preventing SARS," but in actuality they are searching for Falun Gong practitioners. This has made the situation for every Dafa practitioner living away from home very difficult. There are checkpoints on all the main roads. They not only test pedestrians' body temperature but also check their identification.

On the afternoon of May 25th, police discovered several Dafa practitioners in Panjin City holding a group discussion. More than 20 practitioners were arrested. Police separated them, using the excuse of "preventing SARS" by claiming that someone had a fever. The specific location where these arrested practitioners are being held is unknown. At the same time, several other practitioners were arrested from their homes. Detailed information is not available.
