Practitioner Li Shuhua Ms. Li Shuhua, a 60-year-old practitioner, was employed at the Biochemical
Medicine Plant in Kai County. Since her retirement, she has been living with her
children in Chengdu City. Ms. Li used to be very weak and sickly, and had to spend over a thousand yuan
on medical treatments every year. Since she started to practice Falun Dafa in
1996, she hasn't spent a penny on medicine and thus saved the country a lot of
money. [In China, the state-run enterprises cover most of their employees'
medical expenses.] For over a month, police from the Wangpingjie Police
Substation had been shadowing Ms. Li Shuhua as she clarified the truth about
Falun Dafa. According to some of the policemen involved in it, they had
originally planned to tail her in an attempt to find out a so-called
"bigger organization." However, since they didn't find any other
people or organization related to her, they eventually settled for breaking into
Li Shuhua's home and illegally arresting her on April 10, 2002. Police from the
Wangpingjie Police Substation and the Chenghua Public Security Branch Bureau
searched her home and confiscated all her cash, jewelry, bank account info,
cellular phone and other things. Ms. Li Shuhua has been illegally detained in the Chengdu Detention Center for
over a year. On May 21, 2003, a trial was held at the Chenghua District Court to
sentence her. We hope that the international legal organizations will show their concern
over this case and appeal to the Chinese authorities to drop all criminal
charges and release Ms. Li Shuhua. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Ruiqin
Tortured On the afternoon of May 15, Mrs. Liu Ruiqin, who had already been staying
away from her home for two years in order to avoid illegal detention, was
arrested by police from the Yudong Police Substation while visiting home. She is
being detained in the Yanxiang Hotel at Dongerhuan, where they are interrogating
her through brutal torture. According to her family members, Mrs. Liu's husband Gai Wufan was at work
when she was arrested and didn't know anything about it. Her daughter and
son-in-law had been in the midst of a family crisis of their own, and at noon on
May 15, the son-in-law asked her daughter to come out for a talk. Her daughter
was illegally arrested and sent to the Yudong Police Substation as soon as she
left her home. Policemen stole the key to the house from the daughter's handbag,
and they directly opened the door and arrested Mrs. Liu Ruiqin. Mrs. Liu was illegally detained in the Yanxiang Hotel and interrogated. Later
on, she had a heart attack. One of her relatives asked to get her out on bail
for medical treatment. However, the vicious "610 Office" refused the

False Compassion Recently, the "610 Office" in Guangzhou City pretended to be
"concerned" about those practitioners who are unemployed and had
larges sum of money extorted from them during illegal detention and persecution.
They summoned some practitioners who had once written so-called "statement
of guarantee" (to give up practice of Falun Dafa) to the Wanted Center,
telling them that the government was very concerned about them, that it would
like to help them to find a job and return the extorted 3,000 yuan, the fine for
"going to Beijing," as long as they were willing to write another
"statement of guarantee." It is persecution arranged by the bad people
in the form of false compassion, and an evil test to Dafa practitioners as well.
The wicked people appear with smiling faces and alluring personal interest in
the name of "concern," but their ultimate attempt is to make
practitioners give up cultivation practice and to destroy those practitioners
who cannot let go of their attachments and human mentalities. The illegal detention and extortion of money that the "610 Office"
has done to Dafa practitioners is against the constitution: The only thing it
can do in restitution is to release all illegally detained Falun Dafa
practitioners and unconditionally return all extorted monies. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] New Round of Persecution Against Falun
Dafa and Dafa Practitioners At present, the vicious people in Shijiazhuang City, led by the head of
"610 Office" in Beijing, have started a new round of persecution
against Falun Dafa and Dafa practitioners. They filter out residents, household
by household, in order to find any hidden practitioners who are homeless because
of persecution. They harass practitioners' family members in order to find the
practitioners' whereabouts. They illegally arrest practitioners and send them to
brainwashing centers. They even interrogate everyday people in order to
investigate the current situation of those former practitioners who went over to

the Truth by Calling to China In China, cell phone owners have to pay a fairly high rate to receive long
distance calls. Therefore, if overseas practitioners talk for too long in
clarifying the truth, the listeners may become very uncomfortable due to the
high cost. When calling cell phones, I suggest that practitioners ask whether
the receiver has access to a more convenient non-mobile phone, in order to
reduce cost. When we are always considerate of others, we can achieve better
effects in clarifying the truth. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Hua Fengxiang's Family
Members Resist Persecution Ms. Hua Fengxiang is a Falun Dafa practitioner around 50 years old. She was
illegally arrested on the streets of Handan City in early September 2002. The
police searched her dwelling and claimed that she would be sentenced to ten
years in jail before she would be transferred to another place. After she went
on hunger strike protesting her illegal detention, her life was in great danger
many times. By the end of October 2002, her family members got her back home to
Shijiazhuang City, where policemen from Handan City guarded her in shifts, 24
hours a day. Around the end of January 2003, the policemen withdrew from her
home after her relatives appealed many times and resisted the persecution. They
finally got her out on bail for a year. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Liu Sheng Forced into Homelessness Mrs. Liu Sheng, an employee from the No. 1 Branch of the Daqing Water Supply
Company, had to leave her home in order to avoid being forcibly sent by her work
unit to a brainwashing session. The thugs kept pressuring her husband and
harassed her home frequently, day and night. Mrs. Liu's husband could not bear
such pressure and asked for a divorce. Parties involved in the persecution: Shan Jinglong, manager of the Daqing Water Supply Company, Heilongjiang
Province [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Criminal Prisoners in the Masanjia Forced
Labor Camp Get Food Poisoning While Falun Dafa Practitioners Do Not In the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, policemen tried to brainwash Falun Dafa
practitioners by all vicious means. A crowded living space, poor food and drink
are the features of living conditions in the camp. The dirty stinking drinking
water comes directly from the wells without any proper filtering. In summer, it
happened many times that prisoners got food poisoning or suffered large-scale
outbreaks of contagious intestinal disease. The patients ran high fevers,
vomited, had diarrhea and acute stomachaches. However, the Masanjia Forced Labor
Camp always took the same measures: canceling all interviews with family members
and blocking the news. Only when many people's lives were in great danger would
the labor camp secretly send the patients to the Masanjia Hospital, where the
patients were still forbidden to tell others the truth. According to prisoners
detained in the same cell, they saw their own blood was blackish when it was
sampled at the hospital. Every time such a dangerous situation broke out, steadfast Falun Dafa
practitioners were righteous and safe, not affected in the least. The prisoners
in every cell lay on the floor with IVs in their arms, whereas the trouble-free
practitioners sat on the floor. At that time the police guards didn't come to
brainwash them any more. The police guards often asked curiously, "Didn't
you eat the same food? How come you are OK?" Practitioners replied,
"As Dafa practitioners, one good can overcome a hundred evils. Evil things
and sickness demons dare not to come close to us. That's why we are free from
trouble." Once a police guard said loudly, "Now it is clear who is
more immune to illnesses. You just can't ignore the facts." [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Chu Defu Illegally Arrested by
"610 Office" in Panjin Mr. Chu Defu, a practitioner around 33 years old, was arrested at about 6
p.m. on May 25 at a bungalow that his wife and daughter rented in Panjin. At the
time, clerks from the "610 Office" got into the house under the false
pretense of searching for SARS victims. They asked him for his ID and inquired
whether he practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Chu Defu showed his ID card and
acknowledged that he practiced Falun Gong. A clerk immediately contacted the
public security department via cellular phone. They arrested Mr. Chu and
searched his residence. His desktop computer, notebook computer, three cellular
phones, three pagers, over 20,000 yuan in cash, his father-in-law's bank account
information, and some other things were all stolen. He was also beaten up. [Yuanyang County, Henan Province] Li Jian, Director of the Politics &
Security Section of the Yuanyang Public Security Bureau, Keeps Persecuting Falun
Dafa Practitioners Early on the morning of February 1, 2003, the Chinese Lunar New Year's Day, I
was illegally handcuffed and hung up for six hours in the Yuanyang Public
Security Bureau. Thanks to Teacher's help, with righteous thoughts I walked out
of the bad place (the account of this was published on Clearwisdom). When the
police found that I had escaped, they drove a police car directly to my home.
They broke into the house and arrested my husband (also a practitioner), who is
still being illegally detained. My three young daughters (also all Dafa
practitioners) were left alone at home. There is now nobody left to take care of
them. However, the police didn't stop there. Failing to find me by all means, they
then started a careful stakeout of my home and the three kids. Li Jian, director
of the Politics & Security Section, deceived my husband, my parents, my
father-in-law and mother-in-law in an attempt to collect money. After he failed
to get the money, Li Jian led people from the Public Security Bureau, the local
"610 Office" and the Politics & Law Committee to my home. They
tried to trick my eldest daughter, my parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law,
coupling threats with promises. They said that it was time to harvest the wheat
and I should come back home, that if I came back, they would not arrest me, beat
me or detain me, that if my family members gave them some money, they would
release my husband. It is really extremely shameless. During the time when I was not homeless, Li Jian jailed another married
couple that practices Falun Gong in our county. [Huaiyang County, Henan Province] Material Site Destroyed On May 20, a material site was destroyed in Huaiyang County. Details are yet
to be discovered. It is estimated that three practitioners were arrested, with a
loss of over 10,000 yuan in supplies. Currently, police are trying to arrest
other practitioners through phone call records. Two practitioners who escaped a bad detention place were arrested again in
Xiangcheng City. They mentioned their exact location while making a phone call
to a fellow practitioner's home with a cell phone. Because of this, quite a few
other practitioners were also arrested. Recently, many practitioners in our area have displayed a strong attachment
to time. They think that the Fa-rectification has gone through several years,
and it has come to the last few days, and that we don't need to be worried any
more since very few evil elements are left in other dimensions. They thus became
less careful in their words and actions, which gave loopholes for the bad people
to exploit and damage Dafa. After reading Teacher's most recent lecture, some
practitioners have understood the Fa from a narrow view. They ignore the
improvement of themselves and don't attach importance to studying the Fa or
sending forth righteous thoughts. These are the problems that practitioners in
our area have. I hope practitioners from other areas pay attention to omissions
in these aspects. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Yang Liguo and Wang Shutang
Illegally Arrested Mr. Yang Liguo, a 57-year-old practitioner, lives in Xishan Village of
Shahekou District, Dalian City. He has been illegally detained many times for
going to Beijing to validate Dafa and for safeguarding Falun Dafa. At around
8:15 a.m. on May 22, 2003, Mr. Yang Liguo and another practitioner Ms. Wang
Shutang, were illegally arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials
near Qipan New Village in Ganjingzi District of Dalian City. Their homes were
subsequently searched. All Falun Dafa books and Clearwisdom materials at Ms.
Wang's home were confiscated. Currently, Mr. Yang is being illegally detained.
The other practitioner was released after the police extorted 5000 yuan from her
family members [equal to 10 months' income of an average worker in China-by
translator] [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Send Forth Righteous Thoughts Together and
Eliminate the Evil Elements in Other Dimensions Jiang has been in Dalian City for many days. Xia Deren, mayor of Dalian City,
Sun Chunlan, Party Secretary of Dalian City and Jiang's niece, all frenziedly
persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. There have been no sunny days at all for the
past two weeks; it was always gray and overcast. The vicious atmosphere makes
the people of Dalian feel depressed.
