1. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners Unlawfully Arrested in Tuanlin Town

In mid-May of 2003, Ms. Su Kezhen, Wang Jingyu, and six other Falun Dafa practitioners were reported to police while distributing leaflets clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. The police unlawfully arrested them. At present, Ms. Su, Wang and five other Falun Dafa practitioners are being held in the No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Su Kezhen has been on a hunger strike, abstaining from both water and food, and is currently in the No. 2 People's Hospital in Jingmen City. Her life is in imminent danger.

2. [Beijing] Falun Dafa Practitioner Shan Yichang, Who Once Worked in New York, Is Unlawfully Held in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp; Practitioner Bao Lijun Is Arrested

Falun Dafa practitioner Shan Yichang is from Beijing. He used to work in New York and went back to China after July 20, 1999. At the beginning of November 2002, he was unlawfully arrested. He was then sent to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in January 2003, to serve a two-year term. He is being unlawfully held in the Strict Supervision Unit in the No. 5 Brigade.

Falun Dafa practitioner Bao Lijun was abducted on November 9, 2002. Because of ill health, Bao was twice sent to the hospital while being detained in Beijing's Shijingshan Division of the Police Department. The police have consistently ruled out any possibility of "parole for medical treatment."

3. [Chongqing] Chongqing "610 Office" Deploys Special Agents to Trap Falun Dafa Practitioners

According to reliable sources, under the conspiracy of the Chongching "610 Office," [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] over twenty informers are pretending to be Falun Gong practitioners actively engaged in Dafa activities in the Chongqing area. These informers (including some former practitioners who have been brainwashed and released from forced labor camps and detention centers) are on special assignment to gather more information from Falun Dafa practitioners and to carry out more arrests.

4. [Heilongjiang Province] Judicial Departments Are Mobilized to Stem the Public from Filing Appeals

For several days before and after June 1st, Jia Qinglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo (who is notorious for embezzlement), has been visiting Harbin City, Daqing City, and the Zhaodong area in Heilongjiang Province. Judicial departments in Heilongjiang Province began carrying out so called "security safeguard" activities in an attempt to prevent the public, Falun Gong practitioners in particular, from filing appeals to the authorities.

5. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Local Authorities Take Advantage of Registering Transient Population in Order to Unlawfully Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners Who Have Been Forced Out of Their Homes

The authorities in Shijiazhuang City recently have issued documents demanding a thorough screening of the transient population across the city. The registration process will take three months. Police stations are required to verify residents by going into each family home, village by village, and street by street. According to internal sources, the intention of this campaign is to round up Falun Dafa practitioners who have been forced out of their homes and have to move from place to place in order to avoid illegal arrest.

6. [Hong'an County, Hubei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Wu Chengbo Goes on Hunger Strike in the No. 1 County Detention Center; Practitioner Zhang Qiumei Is Arrested

On April 24th, members of the "610 Office" in Hong'an County pretended to be concerned about the possibility of Falun Dafa practitioners being infected with the SARS virus if they were to go out of town. They conducted an intensive search for Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Chengbo. On April 28th, with the cooperation of colleagues in Mr. Wu's workplace, the "610 Office" abducted him for the fifth time on the grounds that he has published articles on Clearwisdom.net recounting the persecution he has gone through. Mr. Wu is currently being held in the No. 1 County Detention Center, and he has been on a hunger strike. It is said that he will be sentenced to forced labor.

On March 2, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Qiumei, also from Hong'an County, was unlawfully abducted by the police and the Hong'an "610 Office." She is being held in the No. 1 County Detention Center. Sources say that she has already been sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Ms. Zhang lives on the ground floor; officers broke into her home by breaking windows near the patio. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Xu Yingqi were unlawfully arrested. At 4:00 a.m. on May 24, 2003, the police arrested Ms. Song Xiuying and Ms. Cao Liyan from their homes in the same residential complex. All four Falun Dafa practitioners are being held in the Huludao City Detention Center.

8. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang] The Urumqi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Xinjiang Is Constructed Solely for Persecuting Falun Dafa Practitioners

The Urumqi Forced Labor Camp was formerly located in Ulapo. Due to the sheer number of female Falun Dafa practitioners held there, the authorities set up the Urumqi Women's Forced Labor Camp on December 15, 2002. The new facility houses the women's brigades from the Urumqi Forced Labor Camp and several other labor camps (where Falun Gong practitioners have been held). This is the only women's forced labor camp in the Xinjiang autonomous region, and it is built specifically for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Its mere existence is evidence of the persecution against Falun Gong.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaoping at the No. 2 Caishu Brigade in Wenjiang District Is Abducted by the Liucheng Police Station

10. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Numerous Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Pi County Detention Center Suffer from Severe Physical Abuse

Recent reports from the Pi County Detention Center indicate that a round of frenzied persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners is underway. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Guijun from Qingbaijiang, who is over 50 years old, has been tortured by the police repeatedly. There are bruises all over her body. Sources say that the detention center authorities have resorted to torture in an attempt to pressure numerous Falun Dafa practitioners to reveal the source of Falun Dafa materials, which will then lead to more arrests.
