First Falun Dafa Month Celebration in Indiana (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) June 5^th report: On Friday, May 30, 2003, Dafa practitioners in the central US gathered in the Capital Commons Park in front of Indiana's State Capitol to celebrate "First Falun Dafa Month."

During the activity, a practitioner read the purpose for celebrating "Falun Dafa Month," and also exposed the Chinese government's persecution and slander against Falun Gong in the past four years. Another practitioner presented a certificate of appreciation to the Governor who issued the Falun Dafa proclamation this year and three mayors. Currently, Falun Dafa has received 14 proclamations and awards from the state of Indiana.

During the celebration, deputy director of information Jody, on behalf of the Governor, expressed congratulations, commended the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance, and expressed that Falun Dafa can purify one's heart and lead humanity to a kind and harmonious society. They highly praised Falun Gong for the contributions it has made to the community.

In addition, three practitioners shared their cultivation experiences and understanding. 75-year-old Ms. Zhao used to be plagued by a disease that even doctors could not diagnose for many years. After practicing Falun Dafa, she had her illness cured in a short period of time, and has not needed medication in the past five years. The audience was amazed after learning her experience. PhD student Mr. Wei from Purdue University related that his mother-in-law, Ms. Liu in China, was detained in a forced labor camp and suffered persecution because she practiced Falun Gong. Finally, a Western practitioner shared his story. He said that after practicing Falun Dafa, he has gotten rid of unhealthy habits and become clear-minded and can deal with life in a more rational way. His family members all support Falun Gong and came to attend our celebration activity with their friends that day.

After that, practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises, and sang the song, "Falun Dafa is good." Western practitioners sang the song, "Coming For You." There were also excellent instrumental performances. The audience highly praised Falun Gong for its peacefulness and elegance, and the purity of music and songs composed by Dafa practitioners.

Many people looked at the photo exhibits depicting the widespread of Falun Dafa and the persecution. They expressed their concern for the persecution of Falun Gong and asked why China would persecute Falun Gong. Kind-hearted people who learned the truth expressed their support.

After the activity concluded, practitioners had a brief experience sharing. The practitioners agreed that we should improve in the areas of coordination and cooperation during our Fa-rectification. The atmosphere was very harmonious, and Dafa practitioners' hearts were united as one. After saying goodbye, practitioners from other states would travel to Chicago to support sending righteous thoughts at the consulate.
