Several Stories From Practitioners' Peaceful Appeal In Front Of The Chinese Consulate In Chicago

On June 10, 1999, the"610 Office," an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems, was established in China under the despotic direction of Jiang Zemin. Since July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin ordered the"610 Office" to start a systematic persecution against hundreds of thousands of Chinese Falun Gong practitioners who remained resolute in their belief, implementing Jiang's genocidal policies of "Destroying the reputation of Falun Gong completely, exhausting Falun Gong practitioners financially, and eradicating Falun Gong;" and "the death of Falun Gong practitioners from beating is nothing and shall be counted as suicide; the body shall be directly cremated without investigating the person's identification." They have been extremely ruthless in their persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and have thus far used more than 40 different types of tortures. A high percentage of their victims are women and elderly citizens. Based on incomplete investigations through ordinary community channels, more than 730 Falun Gong practitioners have been killed in custody during the past four years, since July 20 1999.

In order to stop the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners instigated by Jiang, to expose this ongoing genocide in China to the world, and to encourage more people to recognize righteousness from evil so that they could offer their help to stop this persecution, Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit against Jiang, charging him with genocide, and have put him on trial through the American legal system. We hope more people in the world will distinguish righteous actions from evil, and establish their righteous thoughts.

Lately the weather in Chicago has been colder than usual. Last week, cold rain and damp wind continued while the low and dark clouds pressed down like the lid of a pot. It was especially cold at night. Many practitioners who arrived by car suffered various interferences. Some encountered storms along the way, some drivers suffered severe swelling and pain in their legs, which made it impossible to drive. Some had flat tires on the way.

Practitioners persisted in sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth to the government and news media to break through this evil field.

With more Dafa practitioners arriving from all over the world, the weather started to change for the better. Peaceful appeals were conducted in front of the Chinese Consulate in Chicago, asking them to put a stop to the persecution and to put Jiang on public trial. Evil factors in other dimensions were eradicated by sending forth righteous thoughts. An unusual scene appeared, and many touching stories took place here.

An elderly lady about 50 years old had sat in front of the consulate for five days and nights. Even though she did not sleep much, she did not feel tired. She appeared to be in excellent spirits and radiated vigor and enthusiasm. She said, "The critical moment relies on the cultivated part to play a key role." She mentioned that she planned to come to Chicago earlier, but she missed the chance, which caused her a lot of grief. She grabbed the next chance without hesitation and came to Chicago with just a small piece of luggage with banners.

Another female practitioner got a call from her supervisor after arriving in Chicago, telling her that there was an urgent situation at the office that required her to return to work immediately. She bought a return Greyhound bus ticket right away and planned to leave. But on second thought she did not feel right. After discussing and sharing experiences with fellow practitioners she realized that people depended on her more here. Right then she received another phone call from her supervisor telling her that it was no longer necessary for her to return to work right away; the problems were resolved.

More and more practitioners arrived in front of the consulate, from a few to several dozens, then to a hundred, and then to several hundred. The neat and highly disciplined crowd created a peaceful and tranquil exercise scene that attracted many passersby, and touched many hearts.

Many people stopped and watched. Among them there were Chinese who came to get their visas and passing pedestrians. Some would ask what it was all about. Some cars passing by would sound their horns to show their support. Some passengers would ask for flyers from their car.

One pedestrian asked a practitioner, "Do you personally know any of those Chinese practitioners who were persecuted?" The practitioner replied, "No, I do not, but I treat them the same as my own loved ones. When they suffer such hardship I must help them. Besides, this is also a way to maintain righteousness and fairness in this world." That pedestrian was very touched and he mentioned that it was the first time that he saw such a righteous group.

When practitioners handed out flyers, some pedestrians would ask for them, and they also indicated that they would like to tell their friends. A few times some pedestrians would pass by in a hurry without accepting the flyers, but after a few more steps they would suddenly turn around and say, "Excuse me, could I have a flyer please?" Then they left with gratitude and satisfaction.

Once, a couple went by. A practitioner handed a flyer to them and the lady who was further away from the practitioner ran over to get the flyer with a sincere attitude, and kept saying, "Thank you, thank you!" The practitioner then handed the flyer to the man, but he shook his head and refused. The lady jokingly hit him and said, "Why not take it, you fool."

A mother with several children came by without accepting the flyer. But one of her children kept on turning back and looking at the practitioner, her eyes showing the desire to get a flyer. After giving her the flyer, the child smiled with joy. Her mother said, "Thank you, my child, you did the right thing."

There were many similar stories.

There is always the cause and the consequence, and there are always predestined people everywhere. After the evil factors that control the people are eradicated in other dimensions, the sensible side of them awaken. Dafa practitioners became more mature and steadfast after experiencing the baking sun and pouring rain, the hunger and chilling cold, expelling and eradicating various forms of interference.
