The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp, Guangdong Province

(Clearwisdom.Net May 8, 2003)

The Sanshui Forced Labor Camp is used for jailing male Falun Gong practitioners living in Guangdong Province, except for those from the cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen. All of the practitioners imprisoned there are forced to undergo brainwashing sessions.

The police used the brainwashing sessions widely to try to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong until December 2002, when more and more practitioners refused to cooperate. Under orders from the province "610 Office,"* the associate director of the camp, Ma Liming, associate chief of the education section Ye Qiaojia, and policemen from the ward group (the fifth group of the third station) transferred these practitioners to the second station. These practitioners were jailed separately in small cells, which had slogans slandering Falun Gong and Teacher Li on every wall. The practitioners were handcuffed and forced to squat down on images of the Teacher. Four prisoners were on duty to keep the practitioners from sleeping for days at a time. Some of the practitioners were beaten and shocked with electric batons. During this inhumane torture, many of them suffered injuries on their heads, feet and arms.

In March 2003, the "610 Office" of Guangdong Province started a new round of persecution. The associate director of the office Luo, the deputy chief of the province justice department Chen, and the deputy chief of the provincial forced labor bureau went to supervise the camp. The camp authorities transferred some policemen in order to build a base in the second station for long-term persecution. Once more, the Falun Gong practitioners were forced to squat down and not allowed to sleep for days, suffering from physical and mental abuse.

The persecution is still going on. We are calling upon the kindhearted and righteous people in the world to investigate and stop the atrocities, and to help free the Falun Gong practitioners that are suffering from this inhumane torture.

*The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems.
