Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners from Tumen City, Yanji Korean Minority Autonomous County, Jilin Province Are Illegally Sentenced

On May 15, 2003, the "610 Office¹" in Tumen City, Yanji Korean Minority Autonomous County, Jilin Province once again illegally arrested Falun Dafa practitioners on a large scale. Among them, eight Falun Dafa practitioners were illegally sentenced for three to eleven years in prison on July 2. Among those whose names are known are Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhang Jingwen (sentenced to eleven years of forced labor), Mr. Li Hongming (sentenced to seven years of forced labor), Mr. Xu Shuqing, Mr. Liu Shuyun and Mr. Zhao Litang, among others.

Mr. Zhao Litang was illegally detained and sentenced because he went to Beijing to appeal on July 20, 1999. During his detention, the illegal persecution continued to escalate. He was not released until July of 2002. After the release, he was illegally detained again twice. This time he was sentenced to three years of forced labor for having stored in his home a large amount of Dafa books. The details are still being investigated.

"610 Office¹" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
