By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, practitioners have fully realized the importance of pushing forward the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the rescue activities, and other Dafa work. It is one of the requirements of the Fa-rectification for Dafa practitioners to do well in these things. I would like to discuss the matter from another perspective. If there is anything inappropriate, please kindly point it out and correct me.

1. Focusing on the Actual Effect and Process Rather Than Being Attached to the Result

   Master has told us that everything in the human world exists for Dafa right now. Of course, many of the things weren't arranged by Master. They were arranged by the stubborn old forces to "tackle the attachments of Dafa disciples." In the past few years, Dafa disciples have mainly looked within to improve and become mature in the process of eliminating the evil, broken away from the old forces' arrangements, and assisted Master in the Fa-rectification, which was manifested to a certain extent as trying to deal with the problems occurring one by one in the passive role arranged by the old forces.

   "Actually, you're Dafa disciples, so hey, their plots are playing right into your hands! (Audience laughs) When they stir up trouble you'll have a good opportunity to clarify the facts and expose the evil, right? 'As soon as you evil beings come near, I'll grab you and I'll let the world's people know'--that's the perfect time to expose them." (from "Lecturing on and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference")

   Now, we are taking an active role in clarifying the truth and validating Dafa. We know better what we should do, how to move certain things forward, and how to obtain the desired results. We have come to the stage of creating the history of Dafa disciples validating Dafa within the process of Fa-rectification. However, the process of moving things forward and realizing our goals is, in the first place, a process of validating Dafa and a process for Dafa disciples to improve themselves. Yet the old forces focus only on the latter. They view the improvement of Dafa disciples to be more important than the Fa-rectification. They single out the Dafa disciples' need to improve from their efforts to save the sentient beings, and are extremely harsh and critical. Meanwhile, they ignore the overall situation of the Fa-rectification. This happens because the old forces themselves are a problem to be solved during the Fa-rectification. Therefore, it is critical not to let the old forces make use of any of our loopholes during Fa-rectification activities.

   Personally I think we ought to examine the desired result from Dafa's standpoint to see whether there is any human mindset or sentimentality involved. Next, we ought to see whether we have achieved the actual result Dafa requires of disciples during the process of moving certain things forward, and to see whether there are behaviors resulting from human sentimentality. We need to avoid focusing on the desired result when it is the process that is important.

   "When you do things, I consider the process most important, because during the process you can have people see the truth, during the process you can save the world's people, and during the process you can reveal the truth. Even if you eventually get them sentenced and stuff them into jails, you still need to see whether you've achieved the best results in saving the world's people and exposing the evil, and whether you've also let people see the consequences of doing evil and have thereby shocked and frightened the evil beings. Of course, if they're found guilty by ordinary people then it proves to the world's people that we're right. And of course that's great. If you achieve that effect that's even better, Master agrees. But you often emphasize the results, instead of fully explaining to them the facts that you should explain during that process. Only when all people know the truth that they should know are you really validating the Fa and clarifying the facts. Wherever a problem surfaces, go tell people the facts, and you shouldn't be doing it just to push the lawsuit forward but to tell them the facts. And if the lawsuit is stuck somewhere, then that must be where it needs you to clarify the facts, and then maybe the lawsuit will naturally go forward. If during the process everyone comes to realize the truth and the world's people are saved, and even they have learned the consequences of being used and have learned about the evil nature of the person(s) that used them, and are willing to admit wrongdoing, then I think it's good even if we don't pursue the lawsuit any further. It's not that we have to punish them to some degree. If they come to realize their wrongdoing and make up for it, and the world's people know about it, then that's good enough. But that said, even though the main goal Dafa disciples' have is to save the world's people, when it comes to those very evil ones you really can't let them off. I was talking about it from the angle of having compassion and saving sentient beings. The key is to stress doing well with what you should do during the process, and the result will be whatever it will be." 2. Actively Pushing the Changes in the Cosmos to Bring Changes into the Human World, With Righteous Behavior and Thoughts

   Master says: "...and that's because anything that happens at this human place isn't isolated--it's a reflection, at the lowest level, of cosmic changes taking place." (from "Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003"). Master also says: "Everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts." (from "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.")

   Therefore, from another perspective, we can say that the pure righteous thoughts of Dafa Disciples can, to a great extent, bring certain results to the human world. Ultimately, we are validating Dafa to bring changes on higher levels. While doing specific Fa-rectification work, we should focus on other dimensions to break away from the old forces' arrangements and their restraint of the Fa-rectification work, to eliminate the evil elements that have been manipulated, to get rid of the poison they left in the minds of sentient beings, and to ultimately eliminate the evil beings who do the manipulating. The actual result of the three things Dafa disciples should do (study the Fa and cultivate oneself, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth to save sentient beings) is manifest to a much larger degree in other dimensions.

   Therefore, in any specific situation, we ought to focus on the actual effect, the nature of the issue, and the connotations, rather than the superficial manifestation, state, or result in the human world. Otherwise, we will be confused by the false manifestation or false principles in the human world and mix Fa-rectification work with human mindset and behavior by following our feelings, which is exactly the excuse used by the old forces to interfere, restrain, and persecute us.

   For example, the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin was filed on January 13, 2003. Originally the meeting between the judge and the plaintiffs' attorney was set for March 13. At the request of the plaintiff's attorney, the meeting was postponed until April 14. After the meeting, there were two weeks before the successive legal steps occurred. During that time, under Jiang Zemin's diplomatic pressure, the US Department of Justice prepared to submit evidence that the case was invalid. The deadline for the submission of such a document was May 8. In the following 4 to 6 weeks the judge would decide whether or not the case was valid after examining the documents submitted by both parties. The court was scheduled to make a decision on June 22. On June 12, the judge accepted the Brief of Amicus Curiae submitted by 39 US congressmen. At the same time, the judge also approved requests from the related parties to submit responses. Thus, the final date for the judge to determine the validity of the case was June 20 or at the end of June. If some practitioners focused on the "time," "result," and "judge," neglecting the role they should play in the Fa-rectification regarding the issue, the old forces would make their arrangements on "time," "results," and "somebody" so as to remove Dafa disciples' attachments. Hence, the practitioners who didn't have a rational mind might be quite enthusiastic in the beginning stages, but could become disappointed and discouraged when the old forces' arrangements appeared. Such flickering enthusiasm is also human behavior caused by human attachments.

   We should not view what happens in the human society in a fixed way or allow ourselves to become anxious. Being concerned with the deadline or finishing something by a certain time are human concepts and ways of understanding. We should just do what Dafa disciples ought to do at the right time.

   "Actually, the levels upon levels of beings that I just talked about... just now I wasn't talking about the beings inside those immense cosmic bodies anymore--I was talking about those main bodies, Kings, bigger main bodies, and Kings of Kings of different, immense cosmic bodies. I was talking about those beings. ... ...so once Master talks about it, the talk will get very broad and high-level, because what I face now are all issues like these, and what I'm dealing with right now are all issues like these. And what's reflected in the world of ordinary people all comes from what beings at those high levels have done." (from "Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003").

   If Dafa disciples can follow closely the progress of the Fa-rectification, we might be enlightened to a certain extent to what Master means.

   My recent understanding is that it is very important for us to maintain righteous thoughts at all times. As long as we allow ourselves to slack off, there will be interference. I feel that only when concentrating the most powerful righteous thoughts can we eliminate the evil elements and the old forces' arrangements at the same time when sending forth righteous thoughts. Otherwise, the process will be prolonged. Perhaps the Fa-rectification is now reaching the elements arranged by the old forces at higher and higher levels. At the beginning of sending forth righteous thoughts, we might not be able to concentrate. We can try hard to concentrate our thoughts and the power. The mind and body might feel slightly tight. When breaking through certain limit, we will feel what Master mentioned in "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference":

   "It's very pleasant, as if everything is still and quiet and the whole body is enveloped by energy."

   The body is relaxed. The righteous thoughts just flow out endlessly as you are extremely powerful. It is somewhat similar to what a marathon runner feels, i.e. after you break through certain limitations at the beginning of a run, you feel light and easy. This is only my personal experience.

3. The Pulling Force Among Practitioners, Different Projects, and Different Areas.

" I started the Fa-rectification from outside the Three Realms, going up all the way -- not going along one line but in all directions -- expanding outwardly at a microscopic and macroscopic level simultaneously, going upward as well as going downward, because getting more microscopic and macroscopic is the same concept.... Up above, celestial bodies that are enormous without peer have been rectified by the Fa, but right here, in this place of humans, it's as if a thin layer of skin has been peeled away." (from "Fa-Lecture During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference").

But what's eliminated is a segmented portion. During Fa-rectification when I clear away a layer of gigantic beings, another batch of the rotten ghosts is then exposed, and that's why it seems like they can't ever be totally cleared away. But in fact, our cleansing is done on a large scale and at a fast speed. And what's more, the total number of things that have been cleared out is huge." (from "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference").

Dimensions have been made very complex by cosmic bodies that came from the outside. They've even divided particles into different segments. You really do eliminate them. But what's eliminated is a segmented portion. During Fa-rectification when I clear away a layer of gigantic beings, another batch of the rotten ghosts is then exposed, and that's why it seems like they can't ever be totally cleared away. But in fact, our cleansing is done on a large scale and at a fast speed. And what's more, the total number of things that have been cleared out is huge.

Personally, I think that some issues are really complicated, just like the rearranged and confused structures in the Three Realms. However, some things might be isolated. Some are regional. Some are related to the whole body. Some are only within one level while some exist on many different levels. Yet they are all intermingled and interwoven in different dimensions. It seems extremely important for Dafa disciples to cooperate well and improve as a whole. There seems to be a pulling force among practitioners and projects in different areas. If we do well, there will be a positive interaction.

As to the issues related to many levels, there might not be a desired result within a short period of time. On the higher levels where the Fa-rectification has not reached, there might still be elements arranged by old forces related to the issues in human world. It is just as impractical for us to get rid of all attachments today and become Buddhas tomorrow. Therefore, as long as we do well what Dafa disciples ought to do with rationality, it is fine. Dafa disciples are the main body participating in the Fa-rectification. Before the Fa-rectification reaches the elements that need to be eliminated, we cannot expect everyday people to do anything for us.
