(Clearwisdom.net) On July 4, 2003, the Danish Falun Dafa Association received an official letter from the Civil/Police Department of the Danish Ministry of Justice clearly stating that the police in Gentofte had no sufficient reason to relocate the Falun Gong peaceful appeal site away from the front entrance of the Chinese Embassy in Denmark.

Two police officers arrive because of the Chinese Embassy's unreasonable request. The police officers listen to the practitioners clarify the truth.

The letter stated: "According to Article 79 of the Foundation Law, citizens have rights to hold non-violent assembly without obtaining permission. This article does not however, mean that no resistrictions apply during the demonstration. For example, the police can restrict disruptive behavior in order to keep things from getting out of hand. [... ...] According to the 8th provision of the Police Bureau, should the demonstration impede transportation, the Gentofte police officers have the right to move the demonstration's location, or time. [... ...] The Gentofte Police Department stated that the department relocated Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeal site in order avoid our parked cars causing difficulty to people driving in and out of the embassy, seeing as our appeal had become a long-term activity."

"After a careful investigation, the Ministry of Justice concluded that the reasons listed by Gentofte Police Department were not sufficient enough to relocate Falun Dafa's appealing site. [... ...]"

The entire event can be traced back to a day in late August 2002. Without any explanation, the local police ordered the practitioners who were sending forth righteous thoughts and peacefully appealing, to leave the area directly in front of the entrance to the embassy, a place that they had been conducting appeals at since July 20, 1999, and move to a corner 24 meters away.

We discovered that the Chinese Embassy had written a complaint to the superior of the police department. In the letter, they intentionaly mixed the facts about other organizations' not so peaceful methods of demonstrating over the June 4 incident [Many people hold protests on June 4 each year regarding the Tiananmen massacre on June 4, 1989] with Falun Gong practitioners' appeals. The Chinese embassy took advantage of the Danish police officers misconceptions about Falun Gong and the situation in China, and they directly attacked and framed Falun Gong.

For the past several years, the Gentofte Police Department has come to understand that Falun Gong is peaceful, friendly, and always cooperative. The department has been ignoring the Chinese Embassy's repeated unreasonable complaints and requests to remove Falun Gong practitioners from appealing at the embassy. The Chinese Embassy then bypassed the local police department and sent the complaint to the superior of the department. They took advantage of the fact that the superior police officers had never had direct contact with Falun Gong practitioners and didn't understand us. The embassy pressured the local police to relocate us at least 10 meters away.

Facing this obvious persecution and defamation implemented by the Chinese Embassy, the Danish practitioners immediately used various forms to expose the human rights violations that had occurred in our democratic country. We contacted the government, media, and other facets of society and clarified the truth about Falun Gong.

Later, the Danish people all condemned the actions of the police department and the Chinese Embassy. The Human Rights Commission of the Danish Parliament held a meeting to learn the truth about Falun Gong. The parliament questioned the Minister of Foreign Affairs over this issue as well. The Vice President of the Human Rights Commission was interviewed by a TV station and criticized the police's procedures. The Director of Gentofte Police Department was evasive in front the TV camera and could not answer the reporter's questions. A week later, under strong pressure, the local police kindly informed us that we could move to a place a little closer to our original spot, but we couldn't appeal in front of the entrance of the embassy. Why? They gave various reasons that made no sense. "You won't be affected since you only moved several meters [from the original place]."

We realized that we had done nothing wrong, and we resolved that we would not move even one foot. This was Jiang Zemin extending the persecution of Falun
Gong to Denmark. The old forces' were attempting to destroy the Danish people's future. On one hand, practitioners kept explaining the truth of Falun Gong to the police department and different levels of society, on the other hand, we calmly and rationally avoided all conflict with the police officers and expressed our views while cooperating with them. After finishing a large amount of truth clarification, the local police deparment still insisted on their decision. The Director refused our request for another appointment, "If you have any problems, you can go to the Danish Ministry of Justice.

In December 2002, we appealled to the Danish Ministry of Justice.

We waited half a year for a response from the Ministry of Justice. During this time we always viewed the incident as Jiang's regime extending the persecution of Falun Gong to Denmark. We clarified the truth to all levels of government and society. We expressed our understanding to the Ministry of Justice through legal means. During this process, the Danish Ministry of Justice realized that this case involved the Danish people's basic human rights and the relationship between the local police department and the citizens. Because of the deep social relationships, this simple case went through careful considerations at different levels, from the lower rank officials to the Minister of Justice and also involved the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Finally, the Danish government considered the Danish people's historic traditions and profound understanding of human rights, democracy, and peace: they wisely made a righteous decision and chose a beautiful future.

On Monday, July 7, 2003, having experienced a peaceful and rational appeal to our government, we returned to our original spot in front of the Chinese Embassy's main entrance to send forth righteous thoughts. Soon after we quietly sat down, two police officers arrived at the request of the Chinese Embassy.

"Have you received the letter from the Ministry of Justice?" we asked.

"Yes, but the Chinese Embassy has claimed that you blocked their drive-way again," the police replied.

"Several minutes ago, a car came through the entrance. Actually, their 24 hour video monitor can best explain. Ask them to present the video recording of the traffic obstruction."

"Don't worry, we see it's impossible for you to be blocking their drive-way," the officers cordially replied.

We started to introduce Falun Dafa and the persecution in China to the officers. They listening to us with interest.

This seemingly peaceful contest between righteousness and evil in front of the Chinese Embassy reflected the failure of the evil once the Danish government and people, who have a strong conscience regarding human rights, understood the truth of Falun Dafa. "That's why Dafa disciples' clarifying the facts is the most powerful. Exposing the evil, exposing this persecution, that's the most powerful way to eliminate them and restrain them." (Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference)

This issue is not over yet. The Danish people are still waiting to deeply understand the truth about Dafa. We need to continue to clarify the truth.
