Practitioner Ms. Li Guilan from Shandong Province Sentenced to 3 Years In a Forced Labor Camp for Appealing for Falun Gong
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Guilan, age 36, a citizen of Longkou City, Shandong Province, formerly worked at a shop.
She was fired because she practices Falun Gong. She used to be fussy and was in bad health, but
after practicing Falun Gong, she became healthy and she continually improves her xinxing [the
nature of the mind or the heart, moral character] according to the universal principle of
"Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." Since July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. To clarify the
truth to people, on October 1999, Li Guilan, along with her 6-year-old son and other practitioners,
went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. They rode on bicycles for 6 days to get there, but they were
kidnapped by Beijing police and sent back. They were detained for 15 days and fined. Later on, she
went to Beijing to appeal two more times. Each time, she was detained for 15 days and fined. In
October 2000, to validate Dafa, she went to Beijing for the fourth time. She was illegally put into
a forced labor camp and separated from her small son. Li Guilan is steadfast in her Dafa cultivation. She was detained in the Second Female Labor Camp,
which is in Wangcun, Shandong province. She was brutally tortured both in body and mind. Her 70
year-old-father and small son led a difficult life with no one to look after them. We appeal to international organizations to uphold justice and stop Jiang's regime from depriving
people of the freedom of belief. July 2, 2003
