Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yang Jingfang in Hefei City, Anhui Province Illegally Sentenced to Jail

Ms Yang Jingfang, born on September 30, 1949, current age 55, lives in Room 507, 25 Shuihu Road, Hefei City, Anhui Province. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in May 2000. She explained the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa, for which she was illegally sentenced to one-year imprisonment by the Western District Court of Hefei. After Ms Yang was released, she continued to use her own experiences in Dafa cultivation to enable many people around her to learn the truth about the persecution, and to learn that Falun Dafa is a righteous way. She was highly praised by her colleagues and neighbors for being a good person C honest, kind-hearted, hard working and responsible. On October 30, 2002, she was away from Hefei on a business trip when she received a phone call from work asking her to return immediately, but was arrested upon her return by the police.

From October 30 to December 1, 2002, Ms Yang was detained in the Post Office Building where the police handcuffed her to a chair 32 days and nights continuously. She was only allowed to sit but not allowed to sleep; nor was she allowed to wash, shower, or change. Due to the long sitting time chained to a chair, her wrists were lacerated, feet were swollen, and her hips were in pain. She was in a prolonged unconscious state twice from the severe unbearable pain in her pelvis, back, up to her spine to the neck bones. From November into the winter, the room was heated and the air was very dry. The police would not allow her any drink of water, causing cracked lips and a very painful throat.

On June 5, 2003, Shushan District Court of Hefei sentenced Ms Yang Jingfang to three and a half years imprisonment in the absence of the major "witness" Ms Wen Yan, and using forced "evidence" extracted by torture, which had not been acknowledged by Ms Yang. Ms Yang is in the process of filing an appeal. She is presently being incarcerated in Hefei Detention Centre.
