Mr. He Jian's Life is in Danger Because of Persecution by the Wuhan City Police Department
(Clearwisdom.net) Around June 22, 2003, the police from Division No. 1 of the Wuhan Police
Department once again kidnapped Falun Dafa practitioner He Jian, who has a
master's degree from Wuhan University. They charged him with "sabotage:
using the TV and radio." He Jian totally denied the police allegations.
Currently his health is very bad, and he was sent by the police to Wuhan
Hospital for treatment of tuberculosis. The same police are monitoring him
there. He was diagnosed with severe pulmonary tuberculosis with perforation and
was listed in critical condition. They told He's parents they had to pay for all
the hospital charges. Under the immense stress from the financial and mental
pressure, his parents' health has been deteriorating. The following is what He
Jian wrote before he was in critical condition: My Experience My name is He Jian. I was born in 1976 and currently live in Wuhan. I entered
Wuhan University in 1993 and obtained a bachelor's degree in 1997. I then
continued to study for a master's degree in marketing. Because of my poor
health, I started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. Within a very short of time,
my body completely recovered, and I had been practicing since. On July 21, 1999,
Jiang Zemin suddenly announced the ban of Falun Dafa through CCTV. Countless
practitioners who have benefited from practicing Falun Dafa as I have could not
understand and accept this. At the end of July 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal: according the Chinese
Constitution, citizens have the right to appeal. However, the authorities at
Wuhan University strongly opposed my legal action and sent staff to Beijing.
Along with my parents, they attempted to convince me to give up the appeal.
Several months later, my family members, under formidable pressure from the
university, forcibly brought me back to Wuhan. Back home, attempting to force me
to give up my belief in Falun Dafa, the authorities in the university kept
harrassing me and my family using various methods. At 6:30 p.m. on October 30, 1999, using the excuse of letting me watch the
news on TV, the university police from the security division tricked me into
going to their office, and they illegally detained me. They took turns talking
to me and would not let me have any rest. They asked me to give up a citizen's
basic rights, including practicing Falun Gong and appealing. They threatened to
arrest me if I refused to write a guarantee. In January 2000, I was still a graduate student and went to the Appeals
Office of the State Council in Beijing to appeal against the unfair treatment of
Falun Dafa. The personnel in the Appeals Office sent me to Wuhan Province's
Office in Beijing, from where I was sent back to Wuhan. The police from the
university's security office illegally detained me at the university's hotel for
as long as a week and forced me to pay for all the expenses. After they failed
to obtain a guarantee from me, they pressured my parents and threatened to
dismiss me from school or arrest me, trying to force me to give up my belief.
Then, they sent me to the Wuhan First Administrative Detention Center for 15
days. The police continued to monitor me after I was released, and the personnel
from the university forced me to accept the so-called "assistance and
education" [brainwashing] from many professors. They continued these
useless measures of brainwashing until I completed a master's degree in July
2000. Because I persisted in my belief, the university refused to issue me a
diploma and the certificate until I was leaving to work in Shenzhen, Guangdong
Province at the end of August. During this period, they never stopped harassing
me and my family. In August 2000, I went to work at Kangjia Electronic Limited Cooperation in
Shenzhen. At this time, the overall persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in
China had become severe. We were not allowed to talk or practice Falun Gong
publically, and more and more practitioners were persecuted by means of
detention, forced-labor, imprisonment, violence and economic penalty. In October
2000, I went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing again and unfurled a banner that
read "Falun Dafa is Good." Numerous police officers, many armed,
surounded me. They kicked and punched me and then sent me to the Shijingshen
Detention Center. I protested the unreasonable persecution with a hunger strike. Finally, the
police brought me back to Wuhan City. I had not been eating or drinking for
seven days by the time they sent me to the Second Detention Center in the Wuhan
Police Department. During this time, the police never responded to my hunger
strike and even cuffed me to a train parapet for the entire night on the sixth
day of my strike. The detention center did not dare to keep me because my life
was in danger; they could not detect any blood pressure. I was sent back to the
police station. Afraid of the liability, the police took a bond and released me
home on the eighth day of my hunger strike. On May 15, 2001, the Wuhan Police Department illegally arrested and charged
me for propagating Falun Gong and sentenced me to the Hewan Forced-Labor Camp
for 18 months. In the camp, Falun Gong practitioners have no rights. We were not
allowed to practice Falun Gong, read Falun Gong materials, move around or talk
with other practitioners or inmates. The guards did not let me rest and forced
me to do heavy labor. The camp's food was very bad and they restricted the
practitioners from buying food. When I refused to work, they forced me to stand
for a long time. The guards ordered other inmates to swear and beat us, and the
police also colluded with some former practitioners who went down an evil path;
togther, they tried to brainwash us. In order to protest the physical and mental
tortures, I went on a hunger strike. They ordered an unqualified person to
forcibly put a tube in me and then started to forcibly feed me. Related responsible parties and their telephone numbers: 1. Wuhan Police Department: http://www.whtelecom.com/new/phone/telephone.asp The switchboard: 27-85864400. You can ask to be switched to the first
