Dalian Detention Center Detains and Persecutes Dafa Practitioner Mr. Lu Kaili

(Clearwisdom.net) Dalian Dafa practitioner Lu Kaili resided in the Malanzi subdivision of the Shahekou district in Dalian city. During February of 2000, he was held in the detention center for one year for refusing to give up his belief in the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance". He was forced to do labor in the 3^rd brigade of the Dalian Detention Center, where he was often beaten, verbally abused and suffered other physical mistreatments. Because he refused to relinquish the practice of Falun Dafa, he was sent to the infamous Shenyang Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The work at Masanjia was extremely arduous. They were forced to plant cornfields and rice fields, and were given poor and meager rations. Due to long periods of malnutrition, physical and mental abuse and very grueling work, Lu Kaili's feet became swollen and he was unable to walk. The policemen then ordered people to carry him in a large basket to work. Because he refused to give up the practice of Falun Dafa, his sentence was prolonged for 6 months and he endured countless more tortures. In August of 2001, he was finally released.

Thirteen days after he was released, he was arrested again and sent to the Dalian Yaojia Detention Center. Not accepting the imprisonment, he began a hunger strike. During that time, he was locked up in a cell for a few months. He was handcuffed and shackled in such a way that he could neither lie down nor stand up. He was force-fed through his nose, which caused difficulty in breathing and was very painful. Afterwards, he was transferred to the Dalian Detention Center again. On December 27^th of 2001, he was transferred to the 8^th brigade, which focused on persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Because he refused to do labor, he was detained in solitary confinement and tortured in secret. Both of his hands and feet were handcuffed to the bed, he couldn't move, turn over, or wash.

The guards Jing Dianke and Song Hengyue ordered prisoners Gao Zhonghe, Gao Yongping, Xu Hui, and Lin Yuenan to turn off the lights and wrap him in a blanket, and severely beat him. They wrote words that attempted to defame Dafa on his body, and they also applied mental pressure on him to try to force him to work and to give up his beliefs. Jing Dianke and Song Hengyue would often beat him.

Lu Kaili has been tortured in various ways since January 8, 2002. The policemen strictly block any information that might get out, and Lu Kaili held many hunger strikes in protest of the terrible mistreatment. Each time he held a hunger strike, he was force-fed. Lu Kaili should have been released in September of 2002, but the persecution still continues. The shackles on his hands and feet have not been taken off, and they force him to wear a helmet on his head. On hot summer days, he is not allowed to bathe. His small rations are wholly insufficient, and he isn't allowed to drink enough water. Once, some kindhearted prisoners tried to help him, but policeman Song Dapeng saw it and chased them away with obscenities.

Dalian Detention Center's severe persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is ongoing. They continue to attempt to forcibly brainwash practitioners, subject them to mental and physical torture, place them in solitary confinement and beat them. They also forbid any letters or visits from family members. The guards would even have someone monitor practitioners when they go to the restroom. The food they eat does not contain basic nutrition, and the living environment is damp and dark. A lot of people have contracted scabies.
