Ms. Xu Yunfeng, 47, was a train attendant of the Passenger Transport Department of Chongqing Railway. In 2001, Yunfeng was forcefully into a brainwashing center. Because of the steadfastness in her belief in Falun Gong, she escaped with righteous thoughts. But thereafter, she became homeless.

When she went to Suining City to clarify the truth of Falun Gong, she was arrested by lawless policemen and was illegally detained at Suining City's Detention Center for several months. During her detention, just because she refused to give up practicing cultivation, police brutally beat her for extended periods of time in the detention center and even broken her ribs during the beatings. Later, she was illegally detained at Chongqing City's Brainwashing Center.

At the end of April 2003, Xu Yunfeng's family suddenly received a call from the Chongqing City's Brainwashing Center. They said Xu Yunfeng "killed herself" on April 29. When Xu Yunfeng's family went to see her, her body had been covered with make-up. The police firmly refused her family's request to closely examine her body to see her more clearly. Her body was cremated without family approval that same day.
