Promoting Falun Dafa at BluesFest in Albany (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 12, a Blues Festival was held in Albany, the capital of New York State. Falun Gong practitioners were invited so that residents not only could enjoy the music, but also could come to know more about Falun Gong.

The event was conducted in the area surrounding several big fountains. Many people came and stopped by our booth, and watched the exercise demonstration. An older gentleman sat down and finished watching the brief introduction video, and immediately decided to learn the exercises. He spent over an hour learning them. A young couple learned several sets of exercises from an elderly Falun Gong practitioner who is a retired scientist. He shared his story: several years ago, his doctor told him that he wouldn't have too many years to live because of a kidney problem. After he started practicing Falun Gong, several years have passed, yet he has become healthier and healthier.

When people saw the poster about American Citizen Charles Li, they were very concerned about it. They found it hard to understand that someone could be imprisoned for believing such a wonderful cultivation practice system. They asked how to help the rescue effort, and signed the signature collection board one after another to rescue Charles.

Next to our booth was a booth run by a mother and daughter. The mother was very good at cooking and tantalizing aromas were constantly coming from their booth. The daughter was a small girl, she came over and asked for materials and wanted to learn the sitting meditation. Her mother sent over two bowls of food. At the time the event was over, we had become friends.

Everybody felt happy after the event. Many people have asked for materials and asked questions about Falun Gong. A woman told us that she had been looking for a meditation system based on the Buddha School for years and she finally found it today. Another woman came and told us that when she passed our booth, she had a good feeling all over her body.
