At about 9:00 a.m. on June 18, 2003, the Shuangyang District Court in Changchun City secretly sentenced Dafa practitioners Mr. Liu Haixiao and Mr. Su Huaiming to 16 years of imprisonment. Mr. Wu Zilong was sentenced to 13 years, and Ms. Zhao Xinling (Mr. Liu Haixiao's wife) to 2 years.

Around June 25, Dafa practitioner Mr. Yan Guozhu, who had been detained at the No. 4 Division in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, managed to walk out of the den of evil with righteous thoughts while he was doing forced physical labor. The news greatly shocked the evil. Now the No. 4 Division has been disbanded and the former division chief was dismissed from his post. For practitioners who insist on cultivating, the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp always extends their terms at least two to three months after the expiration date.

In February 2003, personnel from the "610 Office"* transferred practitioner Mr. Feng Liping from the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp to the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center because he insists on cultivating in Falun Dafa. Now he is again sentenced to forced labor and detained at Changchun City's Weizigou Forced Labor Camp.

Also, practitioner Zhao Lixin from Shuangyang District, Changchun City was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials. Later on, Zhao was sent to the Weizigou Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Chen Chujun, 34, was an employee of the Huaihua City South Railway Station. From July 20, 1999 to July 2002, she went to Beijing seven times to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested, and many times put into brainwashing classes. In August 2000, personnel from the Police Section of the Huaihua City Railway Station illegally sent her to Zhuzhou City's Baimalong Forced Labor Camp. Chen was released over 70 days later after staging a hunger strike. In September 2002 she again went to Beijing to validate the Fa and was later detained at Huaihua City's Railway Station Detention Center. On April 8, 2003, while she was on a hunger strike, the Railway Transportation Court sentenced her to three years of imprisonment.

Yang Shuqing, Deputy Director of the Party Committee, and Zou Pinlai, Director of the Political & Judiciary Committee in the head office of her work unit actively participated in her persecution.

On July 10, 2003, police from Xinxiang City's Beizhan Police Station forcibly took Ms. Du Changqing away. She is an over 60 year old retiree from the Pingyuan Mall. The authorities used the excuse of asking her some questions. The police took away ten Dafa books and tapes.

On June 26, 2003, in collusion with leaders from the Linghe Station for the National Tax Bureau in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, police from the "610 Office" illegally arrested practitioner Ms. Xue Lei from the Plan Accounting Section, and Ms. Guo Shujie from the Inspection Section, while they were working. The police then ransacked their houses, absent any legal process. The practitioners are detained at Jinzhou City's No. 2 Detention Center and were forced-fed after they began a hunger strike.

Since July 20, 1999, police from Weiyuan County, Sichuan Province have been relentlessly searching for and arresting practitioners. In the past four years, the police arrested more than 200 practitioners. In addition, Zhou Yongkang, who was the Provincial Secretary and is currently the Minister for the National Police Department, rewarded those officers with payments of 3,000 Yuan.*

It is said that persons in Puziwan Town of Weiyuan County adhered to a local policy that anyone who forced a Falun Gong practitioner to move away from the town would be rewarded with a payment of 5,000 Yuan. Many practitioners suffered under this policy.

"610 Office" perpetrators in Neijiang City, Sichuan Province rented houses in Meiji for the purpose of holding three-month long brainwashing classes. It forced the city administrators, three counties, and two districts to send two Dafa practitioners each to the brainwashing class. Each class has ten persons and each person must pay 5,000 Yuan.
